unless it is a 1400mah 11.1v lipo then you should not have a problem . . . if it is a lipo then the "c-rate" will make a ton of difference . . . especially if you are going to do more than short bursts.

the voltage is what affects a gun not the mah. and no a 9.6 1400mah will not damage your gun you could even run a 7.4 volt lipo on your gun if you want and it will not cause damage

Trent is right . . . 7.4v lipos are OUTSTANDING for most airsoft applications!!
    But your 9.6v won't toast anything . . . fire away!

I just started running a 9.6v 1400mah battery. You might want to look into changing your nylon bushings to metal ones in the future

And this is completely optional, You can extend the life of your piston if you AOE it. Because your running at a faster ROF, the sector gear will be hitting the teeth on the piston a lot harder which whill eventually cause it wear down.

To avoid that, You space the piston and piston head with 1-2 washers and shave the second tooth half way down so that the sector gear engages at a less forceful angle

Actually mah is a big factor in a battery, and matters just as much as voltage. It is the amperage that u need to be worried about. Even though a battery might be a 12v but if it is only 1000mah then in wont outpull a 4200mah 9.6, but running a 9.6v 1400 mah battery will do nothing but good for ur gun.

    +1

Most folks ignore the discharge rate on NiMH batts and do not calculate discharge on lipos.

    For lipo . . .
Multiply C rate by mah (add decimal of course) to get discharge

    ex: 20c 7.4v 2000mah lipo (20x2.0=40) has a 40amp discharge
