Triton 2 Charger Empty Triton 2 Charger

This will be a quick review.

    Triton 2 Li-po/Lead-Acic/Ni-Cd/Ni-MH Battery Charger

    The Good
This is simply the best charger ever. It has 10 memory settings that allow you to one-touch charge your batteries that you have saved to it. But I never use this, because the charger has AUTO settings that will allow it to detect the batteries size/volts/mAh. Almost everything is automated, but it does take quite a while to get used to.

It took me a good 10 minutes to figure out how to discharge and charge my first battery. After that, you really just look at a chart that tells you the discharge rate for each mAh.

It takes about 30minutes to 2 hours to charge a fully discharged battery. This all depends on the settings you want to use. For a quick charge, (about 30 minutes) you set the charger at (1/1000)*2 of the mAh. So, 2000mAh = 4A charge and you just select the amount of volts. Keep in mind, this will cause your battery to heat up very quickly and if done many times, will certainly decrease the life of your battery.

A normal 1 hour charge is done by setting the charger at 1/1000 of the mAh, again 2000mAh = 2A, and again, you select the voltage. The 2 hour charge is (1/1000)/2 so 2000mAh = 1A charge. This will ensure a prolonged life of the battery.

This charger also brought 2 of my "so called" dead batteries, back to life. My Intellect smart charger would not see the battery and would not charge it. The Triton 2 checked the battery to see if it was still good, and then charged it to normal capacity. It was a miracle!

The other great thing, the Triton 2 has a 32 character LCD screen that has a blue backlight that will allow you to see in the dark or during a night game.

All of the options are controlled via a dial and 2 main buttons. Easy to use and understand.

    The Bad

    Only 2 things:

    1) It costs $120-150 shipped to get one. I was lucky and got a new one off of ebay for $90. My other teammate got a new one for $65. Look around, you will find a deal.

    2) It requires 12v DC 10A constant power. This requires a power supply unit. You cannot just plug it into the wall. If you are good with electronics, you can mod a 350w or more PC Power Supply into one.

You can plug the unit into a car battery for field charging if you need to as well.

Overall: 10/10. Best airsoft investment ever.
