TICKS are out already!

Ok guys . . . this MAY not qualify as a "tactic" but definitely fits the bill of story in the form of a warning!
After some awesome small group opportunities for game-play this weekend I was getting in the shower and noticed a full-grown deer tick making its way toward my crotch!
It was soon enough that he had not yet dug-in but I was not planning on him having me for dinner . . . just word-to-the-wise . . . we did not have a very cold winter and it is obviously already warm enough for them to be out. Get some good bug spray and use it . . . permethrin works well but do not use it on skin . . . deet works well and can be allowed to contact skin but you don't want to get either on most plastics so keep it away from your gear! Consider yourself warned!

One of my team-mates got a deertick dug into his ankle at this horrible horrible game called OP:BatFink. We had to get a pair of tweezers and heat them up with a lighter to burn the tick while pulling it out, and it still took a good chunk of meat with it.

Ok . . . it is official . . . nobody on your crew gets to advise on tick removal if I ever get one dug in near a private area of MY body!!!!
I will stick with the ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure AND a pair of hot tweezers approach!!!

Well, it was way beyond the point of prevention, plus Im just trying to drive home the point that deer ticks are mean jokers, but at the same time the lets sit back and wish it off his leg approach didnt seem to be working well in the first place.

Use hydrogen peroxide or alcohol to get them off, just put some on the tick and it will let go and fall off.

Or if you cover them in vasoline, they cant breath so normally they pull out.

Forget all of these ideas, just amputate whatever limb its leeched onto. Thatll show the tick we mean buisness.

No stupid, then you wouldn't have leg. Use a flame thrower to torch the tick until it falls off.

Not that i would encourage anyone to start smoking, but the lit end of a cigarette gets ticks out quick.

I bet shooting it with an airsoft gun would get rid of it. haha

Or make friends with it, invite it to your house for dinner, maybe even take it to a movie. Wait...we are talking about getting it off aren't we....hmmm, well you could always kill your self, but that doesn't work out to well for you does it now?

I played a game one time and at the end of the day, I had 6 or 7 ticks (all were pretty small, though) on me.

As for removal, I just get some tweezers, get as close to the head as I can, and pull. Hasn't failed me yet.
