Any Colleges playing Airsoft?

Hey Guys,
I just thought i'd post this in here. I'm starting an Airsoft team as a club sport at Kennesaw State University. I'm meeting with the athletic director today and everything. The chances that this club will be approved are pretty high since we already have a paintball team. My question to you is, know any colleges that already have airsoft teams? I'm pretty sure Georgia Tech has one, at least they said they would in the National Colligate Airsoft League whenever that league gets started. I'm just looking for colleges close by that Kennesaw can compete againest if this team gets off the ground. I'm just outlining the way the team would work and everything. (:

I believe Clemson has one although I have not got in touch with them.

Clemson has a serious airsoft team going. I checked out there club sports section and they hold ops and everything. o___0;; Hopefully kennesaw will get a team like that in the future. I'm trying to find some Georgia colleges though, so maybe a Georgia college league can be set up or at least just locally. I think Georiga tech has one, can any one confirm that?

Mercer may have one? If not you can start yur own sport there so if you have a friend going there you should try and get it started there?

The Citadel had a squad at SOCO do not know if they are a true team for the college or not

Just wanted to give a little update. I got the KSU Airsoft Club Sport approved, I even got three officers now. My vice president is a guy name Grant who plays at Georgetown most the time, then my Secretary and Treasurer is Brandon and Cole who work at Tango Charlie's. We just finished up our budget and are planning a college tournament against Georgia Tech and Southern Poly Tech, and maybe some other colleges. We're still searching for more colleges with airsoft teams in our area at the moment.

Thats pretty cool that you actually have something going, Mad props for taking the time and intiative to get something started.

I bought a G36 from some kids who were on the GA Tech Airsoft team. They had a locker off site by the way.

That s awesome that u got things started up. I'm considering joining the clemson team next semester since I don't go home that often and possibly organize something. Its only a 2hr drive from Atlanta and its not uncommon to have GA tech club sports teams come here (or we come there) to play each other.

KSU is planning on holding a collegiate Tournament in November at Elite Ops and we're looking for college teams to invite. It'd be a drive from Clemson (it's in Canton, Georgia) but do you think Clemson's airsoft team would be interested? I'm still inviting teams >u< We're working on the prize would be for first place. xD

i recommend forming a league and use a 1st, 2nd, 3rd trophy cup instead of cash prizes. you are an amateur team and not really pro.

There is a National Collegiate League, but there not that organized....I would make a Georgia League but I don't have the time right now. xD For our little tournament, we only got a couple schools, so a first, second, and third place winner means everybody would win. >u< So we're working on a cash prizes to motivate the few college teams to come. I'll talk to you more about it later, Dad. xD

Is it approved yet? Most teams that started up this semester are waiting till the next Fall Semester to start up, when they can recruit at freshmen orientation. If the West Georgia team gets started up and everything, then Kennesaw would like to invite you to the small tournament we're having at Elite ops in November. Elite ops seems to be the only indoor place that can accommodate a game with this many people. They'll be an entry fee, and we'll be sending out a packet to the teams we know that are in our area. So um....keep me updated on the team progress...? and if you don't want to talk to ME personally, I can refer you to KSU's Vice President of the Airsoft Club. His name is Grant is normally plays at Georgetown.

This, and also I'd imagine cheating going up if money was involved.

Yeah, that's kinda the downside. But on the up side, It motivates teams to play? Plus they'll be Refs there and hopefully they'll catch it.
