So its been awhile since Dagger has been active. We are trying to change that. Here are some things that have changed in our absence. Yes, this is all real.

You know if you took E-5 you'd have more money for gear.

The amount of crap dropped on you at that rank is not worth the extra 200 a month. Seriously.

Oh save the complaining. You know you want it. You know you want the power. Think about it, you're an E-4 getting crap that E-5s get but without the power and the pay. $200 could be another pair of uniforms or more ammo.

You SORRY so&so.......Get your 5. Grow up and take that challange. Rifle Team Leader is an awesome job. Sure you take crap. Not going to sugar coat it. It does not get easier, and the level and degree of BS changes as you move up.

Speaking of challange.......when is your date for Ranger School???? You WILL need this to continue as the Army downsizes again.

I expected as much form you SFC Andy haha. I dont have dates for Ranger and I wont, I have 13 months till I am out of the army.

Unless you have something better lined up (College to become an Officer?), why the heck are you getting out? Economy is not the greatest. Stay in. PM me if you like.

I'm pretty sure in 13 months he's going to change his mind and realize his real calling. IF I can reclass out of Artillery I would stay as long as my body lets me to stay in.

One of these days I might have to push myself to get a helmet...I just like my boonie so much because I have them, they aren't heavy, and don't get in the way. But then again, what's wrong with rocking the boonie all the time?

^Nothing. Nothing at all. Although, sometimes I do enjoy a patrol cover...roll it just right and it looks damn good...Twitch rolls helmets though. Thats who is is. And we love Twitch.

Helmets provide protection while being more versatile. You can change the camo pattern with a cover, you can utilize NVGs and different lights, you can easily attach strobes and otehr identification markers.

I rock a boonie sometimes too, or a ballcap, but most of the tiem i wear helmets.

One thing about helmets too is that it doesn't fall off your head. I've had my PC blown off by some divine wind or something catches the beak and it gets knocked off my head. Also helmets have probably saved me a couple of scratches or bumps. Plus I noticed during the winter here that my ACH keeps my head warmer than the PC.

I rocked my MICH almost all day today. Very comfy. Went with the boonie at the end, and then the rain hit. No Camp Dry on the cover yet so it just got soaked.

Isnt there an army regulation somewhere that says we can Paint our helmets?

670-1? If there isn't I've never heard of a regulation that says we can't. I've seen pictures of non-ranger/SF/anything special operations with no ACU helmet covers, painted ACH and Wilcox NVG shrouds and they have 10th mountain patches. I do remember seeing the infantry battalion here rock Multicam in the field and their scouts/fisters helmets were painted and have foliage. Idk man.

Edit: Nope found it. AR 670-1 Fg. 28-13. "Personnel will not alter the color of the helmet except for safety
or training requirements."

That's Army wide though, could still depend on your unit.

You were not there for the big Cav Scout/Infantry Brawl of 2011. I dont expect you to understand.

19D the most useless MOS ever. Even Artillery hated the Cav scouts. They were too arrogant to use our fisters and they claim that their "snipers/scouts" can call for fire just as accurate. Well WRONG. Stupid stetson and spur wearing over-cocky arrogant pieces of waste.

Every Cav guy says :"If you ain't Cav, you ain't s*&t".

I reply :"If you aren't Infantry, you're just Support". Because it's true.

Although I would want to reclass to 11 series or 13F.
