Strange Ding Sound

So, I fixed up my CA G36K that I got for $25 from someone. Everything was in order. It shot fine and had great consistency.

Then, out of the blue, every 10th shot or so, I hear a DING sound. It sounds like metal hitting metal, or a BB hitting metal. But what perplexes me, is that when I hear this sound, the BB mysteriously shoots really off target, and always straight up.

I just cannot figure out what is causing such a strange thing to happen!

Any thoughts?

Here are things that I have already checked:

Spring Guide
Hop-up
Barrel
Seals
Piston/Head
Cylinder/Head

Like is it a very high pitched ding like a bell or just sorta a low pitched clanking noise.

higher pitched... like a bb hitting metal really hard.

Where does it sound like it is coming from? the gb or the hop up.

hmmm... well i can't think of what it might be right now, but i will keep it in mind.

Take out the mechbox, hook up the battery, and fire the mechbox (outside of the gun) several times in order to see if the sound is coming from the mechbox. If it's not, put the mechbox back in the gun and fire the gun (without any bbs/mag in it) to see if you're getting a ding. If not, try it again w/ bbs/mag in it.

Very, very good idea, this will help pinpoint your problem very easily.

I was dumb and didn't even check to see if the flash hider was bent... and it was. BB's where reflecting off of it.
