If you're talking about the V2 (i.e., sold within the last 8 months or so), the Echo 1 is a rebranded CYMA CM.032.

Don't get it. The Echo 1 EBR is a rebrand of the KART, and both aren't very good.

Yeah, they're not good.
If you want an M14 on the cheap, CYMA will be your best bet. You can add an RIS kit if you want that kind of look.

I'm with Admin. I bought a CYMA full length M14 about 18 months ago for about $100 (now they run about $110-130). I put a 130 spring in it and have had no problems with it. Because it was another "test" gun I changed nothing but the spring and used a 9.6 and 10.8 battery. The type 7 gear box is solid and came with metal bushings which surprised me for a "cheap" gun. Because it was shooting 470 FPS (and because I drew blood on my buddies forehead twice in one day!), a few weeks back I pulled the 130 spring and put a 120 in it. Shoots right at 420 FPS now. I did have to clean the triggers electrical contacts when I changed the spring, they were black, I'm guessing from the higher voltage battery.

Re: WTB a echo 1 M14
I'd actually have to disagree. Back when my SR-25 was out of stock i was looking around and i was interested in the KART m14 ebr so i did a lot of research on it. From wat i have seen it is a really nice gun, the only thing i was able to find/read about it that was bad was the weight ( 15 pounds). I was about to order it when my gun (SR-25) randomly showed up at my door. If you like the design, I'd say go with it and try it. After all the decision is up to you.

Yeah, it really is. And it's very simple to work on, because all of the electical/trigger components are on the outside. But remember that the CYMA M14 uses a V3 spring guide, not a V7, so if you want to replace it for some reason, get a V3 spring guide.Chief wrote:The type 7 gear box is solid

The stock spring guide in my CYMA M14 is plastic, though I had no problems with it, I replaced it because I had a steel M14 spring guide laying around (JBU Part #SDJA45 - Steel Ver.7 Spring Guide w/Bearing). It matched up fine with the old one.
Are there different CYMA M14 models or years that use a ver 3 spring guide?
Either way, it's always wise to match the parts up before attempting to put them in! I've been shipped quite a few parts that say they are for a specific gun to find out that when I had gotten everything torn down, the parts didn't match up! When I get parts in I don't get my hopes up anymore that they will seamlessly go into my gun and I'll be up and running in no time. There seems to be quite a bit of minor modification needed in airsoft gun upgrading and repair.
