Recoil Buffer for AR15?

Before anyone says anything, YES, I am aware of the low recoil of the 5.56 round especially in the M16 style weapons, with their long buffer tubes and springs. However, I have seen recoil buffers for alot of weapons, and I was wondering if there was a more advanced sort of recoil buffer for an AR15. Is there? (OTHER than the aformentioned buffer spring)

Yep, they've got hydraulic buffers. Basically think of a buffer that compresses as it moves backward.

I would stay far away from those.... They will some times work to good, basically short stroking the gun.


If you want to reduce climb and kick, get a brake or compensator.
