I have a G36c and a gas secondary, is an m14 a good buy. I want something with a little more range and different than an m4.

Gun variant =/= performance in airsoft. You can get any gun you wants and make it just as accurate as the rest or more so regardless of its type, for the most part. If you like the way an M14 looks, you can make it more accurate and have more range. But you can do the same for MP5s, P90s, M4s, G36c's, M16s, AUGs, FAMAS's, etc etc etc. Look for a gun style that you like, like the M14, for the looks, but look for the COMPANY that makes it for the perofrmance, or aftermarket upgrades that you would put into it to make it perform better.
