It looks nice. I would say my feelings on it depend on how you wanna use it. It is set up for a cqb gun. Shoots around 300 fps and has a short barrel. If you wanted to use it in the woods it would limit you on range. For cqb though, it is prolly cool. You can get the parts to make the dust cover close, btw. I like this G&P variant:

It shoots about 350-400 fps. Since i rarely play cqb, I prefer a gun for outdoor and woods play. G&P also makes the retractable stock version of that gun as well.

G&P externals are GREAT! Internals not so hot! Gears are about the worst on the market!

I have the Sentry in Tan, its absolutely gorgeous. I havent used it the field yet, so I cant speak for its stock performance, but it looks and feels like the real thing, more so than any other airsoft gun I've held. 10/10 for externals. Except the dust cover doesnt close. Neutral

Absolutely the dumbest thing about a G&P . . . actually had someone tell me that it was for "realism" . . . any idiot who owns an AR (Why yes, I am an idiot that owns an AR.) knows that the dust cover on the real-steel closes! Rolling Eyes

What would be the point of a dustcover that DOESNT cover to protect from dust? I.E. close...

Just flip the spring around on the dust cover and it will stay closed, until you pull it down to adjust the hopup. It'll be just the G&G combat machines then. Not really a big deal to fix.

It has a semi-circular latch with spring loaded pin that is WAY too large to get anywhere near closed.

What he means to say is that the dustcover will flip up into the body and against the mock bolt. It won't lock by any means, no one will dispute that.

yeah . . . a spring can get it to stay up but not close . . . a position that is even less realistic to real steel than stuck open IMHO . . . will just leave mine open . . . if it bothers someone alot it would be easy/cheap to swap out the cover entirely. I am sure Airdog carries dustcovers or can get them on the cheap and it is a pretty universal part only requiring removing a single, or sometimes double, e-ring.

Ok guys the reason y G&P dust covers are big are bc they are the same size as the real steal ones. G&P just tried to be as realistic as possible hense the actual dust cover. If there was an actual bold carrier group you would be able to close it. Anyways in real life the dust cover is open when your shooting so why does it matter if it closes

Trent, the first and foremost rule of handling your weapon is you must keep it CLEAN. The ejection port it the main point of entry for foreign particles to clog up your weapon, whenever you have stopped shooting, the dust cover MUST be closed. I guarantee in those MagPul Dynamics videos they stress this just as much as the rest of the United States military. So in my opinion having a dust cover that doesnt close is wholely unrealistic.

That being said, in airsoft, you dont really need a dust cover anyways, as the mechanism is closed. The M4 that I currently use doesnt even HAVE a dust cover on it Razz
