    eye protection Empty eye protection

    Post  G force 17.09.10 9:59

My first upgrade needs to be my eye protection. We have a bunch of paintball mask that i am ready to kick to the curb. I usealy just play in my saftey glasses or mesh mask, but with more bios being out there now that becoming less of a option. I am just about exshasted in my search and don't want to waste more money on some thing that doesn't work.
Heres my must haves for my sons:
full face protection, no fog and i mean no fog if they can't see they can't shoot, and good peripheral, reasanaly price around $50
the save phace, matrix alien @ Evike looked like good opitions.
    must haves for me:
NO fog did i mention NO fog, no fans they dry out my contacts. Need great peripheral. I dont like a full mask (can't site down gun, harder to comunicate with others) so goggels seem to be my only option. There is so many i don't know whats best. Comfort would also be nice. Good foam seal (i sweat like crazy)
Am i asking for too much? Do they make such a goggel?
Any help would be greatly appecated.
    Thanks,
    G

Flak Jaks are really good in my opinion http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/ZRW118-1.html
I use FlakJaks with a breacher mask and get zero fog
Heres the link to the thread about the breacher mask

Have you considered wearing safety glasses under mesh goggles? Flakjacks are good, especially if you take out the vent inserts. If you want the face protection (which I highly recommend, I have personally gotten one of my teeth shot out), get a breacher mask (PM Tinman), an Iron Face (Airdog sells them), or wear a boxing mouthgaurd.

Also, this question belongs in the "Tactical Gear" section, so I've moved it. I left a shadow link in the upgrades section so you can find the topic though. "Upgrades and Accessories" pertain to things that you put inside and on your gun.

RIP thanks for the links. I am going to but a set or two of Flackjack w/iron face from Airdog at ACZ on the 25th for the sake of convenance. The Breacher mask looks like a good option also and have PM Tinman on how to get one. They look like you can still get to your gun sites. Can you look down your gun sites with it on?

i would personally get a breacher mask, they don't push on your face like an iron face and are just as nice for a few bucks more, they also look really sweet.

I have a breacher and they are a good mask. no fogging, comfortable, etc. An iron face/ flakjak combo is another good combo. however for games that don't require full face I wear just a pair of Oakley M-Frames. They will not shatter from getting shot. I've gotten a three round burst to one lense. I've heard ESS also makess good goggles and glasses but i've never worn any so I don't know if thats true or not.

Flakjak breacher combo is the best i have come up with. Ironface digs in the bridge of the nose.
I wear face pro weather its required or not. I am much braver knowing my teeth are safe as I like to smile a lot What a Face
There are some cool mesh half face masks on the market too http://www.bitterendgoggles.com/bitter_end_lower_mask.htm

I've never had luck with glasses since they always fog on me. I normally go out on the field with ESS Profile or Striker goggles. They don't fog for me (except extremely humid and wearing an ironface)

    http://www.ebairsoft.com/strike-steel-half-face-mask-black-khaki-p-3387.html

And a review. Don't expect it to withstand point blank shots with 400+ fps.

Mesh eyepro gives you everything you just listed. Only problem is, do you buy into the whole "shards of broken BBs through the mesh" nonsense or not.

I don't buy into the shards thing. They say Bio BB's can shatter. The only prob I have with mesh goggles is they mess up my depth perception. But thats just me. I know many peeps who use mesh goggles and love em. I have custom cut mesh that fits into my flakjaks. I use them when its really humid or raining.

those look similar to fencing masks. i don't think the company is in America so shipping will probably be expensive and will take awhile.

I've pretty much sworn to mesh now. Its just...superior. Especially at night, although that may sound strange.

Thanks for the compliments on the breacher mask guys! Very Happy
We use Flakjaks with Breachers and vary between lens and mesh depending on weather. (I have both combos for each of us and we just grab which fits the best for the conditions.)

Tinman has a link for the mesh material. He and I custom cut the mesh to fit our Flakjaks.

There is a company called Bitter End that will put mesh in real frames. From what i understand you just send them your goggles/glasses and they will put mesh in them. Website is www.bitterendgoggles.com

I can attest to the awesomeness of bitter end gear. Just when ordering with paypal, if you want a color, type the color you want into the order comments section.
