Re: Looking for optics
It all depends on personal preference. Personally i am a fan of ACOGs and aimpoints, but I like eotechs too.
Just remember when buying a scope you get what you pay for. Do you need to buy a 600 dollar aimpoint? No definitely not.
But dont go spending 20 dollars on a scope either thinking it is going to be nice. Your just going to get a cheap piece of plastic that is going to break.

I have this on one of my guns and its really nice.

Re: Looking for optics
I bought a Tasco 30mm red dot at Wally World. I don't care for how it mounts (wish it were.....nicer?) I took the time to zero it on a 25m target. It has been awesome so far. It has about 11 levels of brightness. Works on the CR2032 (watch battery). It costs about $33. I have also seen this sold at Dick's.

EOTECH replicas are nice, that's what I use on my M4. http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_info.php?cPath=36_340&products_id=2813

No way man, I've ordered from them multiple times and my order always comes in pretty fast. They give you some severely reduced prices. I got a 225$ scope for 80$ from that website.

Re: Looking for optics
i'm also looking for a magnified optic for my ps90 (real firearm). it currently has an eotech clone, but i need something that has around 4x magnification. i tried putting a 5x magnifier on it but it was really silly looking (not much room on the rail). my ps90 is a home defense weapon but being limited to within 25 yards sux. i tried out a 4x acog. it was awesome until i saw the sticker price... cost almost as much as the gun.
i haven't tried out the acog clones yet.

Re: Looking for optics
I'm not sure what your definition of clone is but if your putting Airsoft optics on a real firearm that probably isn't a good idea. There is a reason the airsoft optics cost way less than the real ones. Its not going to break your gun, but the vibrations and what not going through the clone scope are seriously going to damage it given enough time.

Re: Looking for optics
Yea, I'm thinking fake optics on real guns=bad. For home defense why would you need magification? Even with LOTS of land...once you break the threshold of your door....bad news for you. If you just want the option for general plinking....Larue Tactical had something you might like. The "Po Boy Special". It is a 3x magnifier on a swivel mount. It mounts behind your optic and pops to the side when not in use. I don't remember the price.

i found the optic that will suit my needs.

Leapers 1-4x28
i can use the 1x for home defense and 4x for range practice. before, i kept having to swap out optics.
the recoil on ps90's is about the same as my sig 522 .22lr black rifle. it's very low recoil. airsoft optics have worked well with it. i use a quality eotech clone on it and hasn't had a problem after 200 rounds.
if you look at the pic of my kid holding the ps90, there's not much room for a magnifier.
