from what i've read about other mosfets doing that, it didn't have any type of protection. i recommend fuse protection. the cheap KHM has a mini fuse in it. ryan mentioned that the mosfet on that video was made by infected. mosfets are very sensitive and a simple unregulated voltage spike can damage it. in my case, a bad battery i had with low voltage melted the mosfet.

i'm not saying that infected products suck, it's just the nature of mosfets being sensitive and prone to failure.

I don't care who makes the product for the AEG's as long as it is a quality product with quality control at the manufacturing level. Some parts made in china have good manufacturing, other products are produced in sweatshops with 14 year old kids making electrical components from some Russia supplied 3rd world country's space program that failed 50 years ago... because the parts are on the low low. I will be sticking with quality products made by qualified people with some good quality control, and product backing. So REED I need a AB MOSFET...

i have one from reed, one from infected airsoft, one from extreme fire, and one from KHM.
the one from infected airsoft melted.
the one from extreme fire was the most expensive and has a thermal breaker.
too many projects at the moment to install the mosfets.

for now, ill probably buy mosfets from rhino, but that could be awhile since i havent gone to game in awhile.
a|ex, when you get around to putting the chinese mosfet in your gun, lmk how it is, thanks

the KHM mosfet has the fuse soldered onto the board. sux. looks like that fuse needs to be desoldered off and a thermal breaker installed. still haven't installed it, just finished installing reed's mosfet on a p90 (no fuse protection cause an inline will not fit, the mosfet is taking up the space).

reed, put a resettable thermal protection on your mosfets and i'll buy 5 off you.

edit: i just installed the KHM on the other p90. it's not AB but for $7.00, whadaya expect... for this price, i doubt it will be able to handle high voltage LiPo's.

I will when I start getting complaints of them failing without user error Wink

update on the KHM mosfet: i was mistaken, the fuse is not soldered. i cut the insulation down to expose the base of the fuse and it's not a soldered fuse (replaceable fuse). also, it has not showed any problems after a few days at both SS airsoft and Golden Eagle. i ordered a few more and will replace the SW-AB-Long on the Tavor (the AB is not allowing the spring to pre-cock/pre-compress).

on the other hand, the AB works great with the p90's. i don't have to release the anti-reverse before completely disassembling the gearbox.

Tavor's are not suppose to pre-cock and that is the point of an A/B mosfet! Hence the Active braking.

The only gun I can think of off the top of my head that is suppose to pre-cock is a PSG-1

thanks for the info. i read somewhere it was pre-compressed. that makes more sense.
back to troubleshooting the trigger issues.
