So, I have an m4 gearbox that keeps locking up. I pull the trigger and the piston gets pulled all the way back and locks...I have to go into the gearbox to reset it. any ideas?

Re: Gearbox lockup
Have noticed what you do to release it? Is it catching on something in the upper part of the GB? Is the upper gear turning freely or is hard to turn?

how are your gears? sometimes they will actually get bent around the center post causing them not to be able to rotate fully.

I just open it up and reset everything. I don't think it's catching on anything. But, the first gear (the one the motor meshes with) feels tight in the bushings when I try to rotate it without the other side of the gearbox on.

Can you pull it out easily without the bushing coming out as well?

Re: Gearbox lockup
use a stronger battery to finish the cycle. then reshim it correctly so it doesn't over stress your motor and battery again.

I'd say that your axle on your gear is warped. I've seen that before. Essentially if you have it warped then your axle is either working off center or it's so warped that it is too hard to rotate. Has to be replaced.

Re: Gearbox lockup
first of all, did you put a new spring in it? like say a m130-m140 and using stock gears, motor and 8.4v battery?
did this just start happening or did you acquire this AEG with this problem? does your handgrip/motor heat up? without really giving more information, i'm going to guess it's bad shimming.

I put a new spring in but i think its only an m100. It has upgraded high speed gears, using stock motor and a 9.6. I was thinking it was bad shimming too.
