it's cheaper and easier to upgrade an AEG. you can just buy a base gun and add parts over time. ask poopdaddy, rhino, or a|ex.

yeah Blaze on here did that. it works really well too. its expensive to upgrade a bolt sniper. have you looked up prices on upgrades? a lot of people did dmr builds with m4/m16 guns. i have an SR25 that works really well when it works lol

if you make it yourself and don't buy it. but if you get a ghillie suit don't be one of those people who puts it on and runs around in it lolred baron wrote:haha i was thinking about a g&g m14 but to go with it do you think a gillie suit would be worth it?

Well "Fully upgraded" in and of itself is a loaded term. You want to be effective with it? Want 100 yard shots? plan on $1000 seriously. Not to mention tuning constantly. I'm a huge fan of the bar/vsr platform and its how I actually got started in airsoft. But it takes a huge amount of time and money. If you still want to get into it go to asf and ready everything you can on the platform. Should take you a week or two to get through it all.

Airsoft forum.
Here's a link to the vsr stickies. http://www.airsoftforum.com/board/Helpful-Vsr-Threads-t95162.html I'm not kidding of putting $1000 in a bar. I put $650 in one and was shooting 230-250 ft. Still not incredibly effective against modified aegs. IMHO DMR is more effective.

Re: the jg bar 10 or is it a no go?
Nah. You have to think about the whole game of airsoft vs. real steel. In real steel you can see the advantage of using a b/a. But in airsoft you are limited by field fps and a 6mm plastic bb. In 90% of fire fights you are just going to be using a barrage of bbs to hit the other guy(s). So you have to weigh what's going to be effective. If you have a semi modified b/a rifle on the airsoft field then you may only be getting 1 or 2 kills in an entire day. A heavily modified one you may have close to even k/d ratio and that is if you are skilled and having a good day. Airsoft is a game. You could spend more money on gear than Jimmy and Twitch combined and buy more guns than Poopdaddy's entire team, but you are still limited to the rules of the game and the "ballistics" of a 6mm bb. I'd suggest to actually be effective on the field and you are into long range stuff then get a good dmr platform and slowly accumulate parts to put into it.

Re: the jg bar 10 or is it a no go?
Yeah there are some guys who use m16/m4 platform for dmr builds. I'm not a fan of carry handle m16's though, just not my style. I'm looking into an m14 or g3. If price is a limiting factor and you already have 5 m4 mags then that would help out with that decision. I've had an SR25 which is a good platform but it wasn't right with the role I play on my team. I seem to always get put up front with lots of running so a 20lb rifle wasn't very good for it.
