When you say loud what sort of loud? The squealing of the gears, motor, or the movement of the piston?

Yeah that's probably the sound of the piston hitting the cylinder head. Do you have an aftermarket piston head? you could always try a sorbo pad.

it's essentially a rubberesque material, sort of what older mousepads are made of. A circle of it is cut off and installed on the piston head (someone correct me if it's the cylinder head). So it will cushion the impact of the piston head striking the cylinder head. So instead of two hard surfaces striking it is softened. Some people swear by it saying that it gives more life to the gb shell due to reduced stress.

I haven't tried one. I'm pretty sure that Rhino does not suggest anything systema though.

Systema parts are overrated and overpriced
Silent heads are anything but silent.
Sorbo and adjusting Aoe is the way to go.

I sell sorbo pads, they fix angle of engagement.
For you, I'd suggest a 40oo pad which is pretty soft, and dampens piston noise. I have a thread on this forum, but it is a few months old, and not really bumped since a there's not much market here.
Also, I'd try a foam filled suppressor too, as that can also help.

Yes the padded piston cyl head sets are the way to go. You can actually buy matched sets from normal retailers now. We have the element silent set at Georgia Paintball in Marietta, and can buy the Padded Set on a special order. I have used the Systema Silent set, and it did reduce the bang noise substanstially. Mostly because it was not a flat surface on flat surface slapping each other. The tapered head of the Elemenet silent set with the soft contact ring Does reduce noise. If you want to come to the shop I can show it to you and explain it in much more detail.
