From what i've heard, it shoots very nicely, and it's pretty durable. The externals are supplied by Norinco, which makes the real type-56's for China... That should tell you something about the externals build quality.

I've seen/handled one up close, and I almost bought one in December. However, I got an awesome deal on a TM M14 that I simply couldn't pass up. The externals are amazing. Having handled many real-steel AK's, I can say that, when compared to real-steels, the Realsword is one of the best. Compared to airsoft AK's, it's in a league of it's own.

As for a retailer, Airsoft Atlanta used to have some really sweet prices on Realswords, but not anymore.
Redowlf would probably be the best place to get one.

One of my teammates has one. The exterior build quality is second to none. You cant buy an aftermarket parts kit that can come close to it. It has the structural integrity of a KWA and the performance of a stock TokyoMarui (we did tests, with a stock AK TM and the RS AK, same performance, except the TM had about 10ft more range). HOWEVER, the internal parts are somewhat custom, we bent the tappet plate, and he has yet to order the piece from RS itself to replace it. So be careful when upgrading it. The motor is also relatively weak, and is slow when you put a 350fps rated spring in.

I have heard that RealSword updated their motors recently, though I don't know if this is true.
The internals are weird because the RealSword's externals are made to the exact dimensions of a real Type 56. In most guns, the receiver is a little wider to accommodate the gearbox.

As a RS T56 owner, I love this gun. I bought it at AA for 369.99 (later became 299.99 then 429.99). Anyway the gun is all around amazing. Mine came stock with a M130 spring which pushes out 460 fps! The gun also has a High-Tourque motor in it for you FPS kinda people.

Pro: -Nice internals, good size barrel for accuracy
-Real wood furnishing and Metal exterior
-Durable, just like the real thing

Con: -TM mags were too small for the mag catch (I ordered two G&P mags, and they were the mag catch was too big. So I sodered it on the lip and now it fits perfectly)
-High FPS drains my batterys really fast
-has two battery compartments (one in stock one on the top) But the stock compartment has no room, so ur stuck with stick batterys on the top, which makes it harder to put a scope on)

This is an amazing gun, and probably one of the best AK style guns on the market. You could buy a TM and upgrade to real wood, metal, high torque motor, new spring, and high-quality barrel and you'd lose a good $200 in the process of making it as good as the Real Sword
