I made it. now im bored in MOS school. Fort lost in the woods.

Welp after dealing with the sand fleas and going through 4th phase RCT training at MCAS new river im now at Fort Leonard Wood MO learning 1341. I gotta say. It feels good to finally be here.

nope I'm active duty. I'll find out here in 2 weeks where my permanent duty station will be. Word on the base is they are sending us to Okinawa. Who knows though, semper gumbie lol.

You'll either hate it or love it. I just got back from the Asian Pacific side of the world man, whoever is in command of that theater hates us right now with all the incidents with the local nationals. Have fun though if ever you get sent to Okinawa. You'll hate the weather trust me.

that's what I keep hearing. There are alot of rapes and breakins in Okinawa. Young pfcs and pvts get drunk and cause all kind of trouble. How was Korea by the way? Been awile since I talked to you guys. The forum seems deader than it was when left.

Korea sucks. I would go AWOL if I see Korea on my orders again. The only reason I would go back is if I would only be there to be stationed at the JSA, other than that, I would not do a full normal tour again.

Thing is once you go to Korea if you stay in you will be headed back.

Most guys I know never did Korea more than once. The ones that did had 15-20 yrs between tours. Okinawa is small with some SF guys that are stationed there. You are close to Japan so take advantage of it. DO NOT do stupid Private crap. If you meet a bunch of guys in your unit that are constantly saying how bad it sucks....find other guys to hang with. I feel bad that Flipa didn't have the same great time I did in Korea. It was 1996-97 and I had rank and a few years in already. You should have some kind of internet access so use it. Take College and some online .Mil courses. They will help pass the time, give you goals/objectives, and they are great for promotion points. You are USMC right? If you don't like it you can change Service and not retake Basic Training (Boot Camp). At least if you go Army that is. Not sure with USAF.

Thank you SFC. im really leaning toward the east coast. I have Lejeune on my wish list. hopefully that's what I get. but it is needs of the marine corps so its what ever is needed at the end of the day.
