This is my review of the Classic Army MP5SD6.
First Thoughts:
When I first looked at this gun, I noticed the Foregaurd and some other parts looked kind of plasticy. But when you pick it up you go "Wow this plastic is NICE."It kinda reminds me of plastic on Xbox controllers, but nicer. Looking around the gun shows some nice trade marks, and calibur markings.
Body Work:
The over-all body of this gun is quite impressive, and very solid. The metal parts are the stock, body, rear sight, rear sling mount, silencer, and the cocking handle. This gun comes together very well, meaning that the shade of black the metal is matches the shade that the plastic is. Its still pretty stiff, like the magazine dosen't go in very well yet, and the stock movement isn't very smooth, but it should loosen up a bit soon.
Here is a size comparison, next to a M4 RIS.
Battery compartment/ Hop- up
The battery compartment, for the size, is actually very nice. A mini battery fits perfestly in there, and you can shove the wires above the inner barrel. I used an 8.4 battery, but there was a bit of extra room. So there's a chance a 9.6V battery would fit.
The hop-up dial is pretty nice. I love the fact that the cocking handle locks back, so you can dial it in very easily.
Shooting:
I have shot about 250 rounds through this gun, so I don't have a real good idea how it preforms. But what I did shoot, I was impressed. I found the effective range to be about 125ft. For the barrel length in this gun, that impressed me. I am positive I will pwn many n00bs in the future with this weapon. lol
Upgrade potential:
Theres a few upgrades I would like to see in this gun. Its kinda loud for me, so I think a new piston and motor would be bare minimum
for it. I plan on PDI rolling bearings, M110 or M100 spring, Silent Piston head/ cylinder head, new piston, and a new motor. I think any setup would be good, but the barrel isn't quite long enough for a range/ DMR setup. And the V2 mechbox means super high FPS setups arent quite a good idea.
Build quality: 9/10
Value for Money: 9/10
Overall potental: 8.5/10
Hope you liked my review. If there is anything I forgot, tell me, I'll be happy to add it.
