Set aside at least $40 of that money for the new battery. In truth your going to have about $100 for internals. Which is enough for a motor and a hi-speed gearset.
What you can do is keep the stock gearset, change the motor, install bearings. There are also other upgrades you can do inside the gearbox with what you got like a AoE adjustment.
But first what is your target RoF?

bearings aren't going to get you much, battery and motor will do the most effective upgrades.
A good 9.6v battery, guarder revolution or G&P m120, G&P white piston and a mosfet should put you at 25+ rps, if you want more you can short stroke 2 teeth.
9.6v battery from Cheapbatterypacks.com $25
OR 7.4v lipo from Rhino (will need new charger)
G&P M120- $30
Guarder Revolution $40 (slightly faster)
G&P white piston $20
Mosfet from awg or airdog $30
Should be fairly reliable if AoE is corrected and it is shimmed right.

Re: P90 upgrades
If you want to buy a 11.1v lipo and then a magnum motor and a supercore piston, that should do you good.

Hmm looks like what I just said except the mosfet would put him over $150.

Re: P90 upgrades
How much do you care about fps? If not you can use a m100 spring or a m110 and put a turbo motor in there. Put a super core piston in there and a MOSFET. MOSFETS really aren't as important for ROF but they're nice to have and they do make a difference. I would say run a 9.6v or if you can find a small enough 10.8 possibly a nunchuk which I've seen, I don't think they will fit. But you could just tape it to the side...

Re: P90 upgrades
Well ask around because I've seen m100s do 340+ and I've seen them do 298 so just ask around because I'm not all that familiar with springs.

Re: P90 upgrades
yea get a m100, matrix 3000 turbo motor, super core piston and possibly a MOSFET and you should be rockin' 25+ easily

Re: P90 upgrades
if u dont want to spend the money on the super core go wit the G&P white thats what i have and mine and i shaved a tooth and half off so the piston wont prengage and my G&P has lasted longer than any other piston i have tried

Re: P90 upgrades
alright, i looked up everything and i got this
-M100 $15
-Matrix Turbo motor $45
-G&P white piston $25
im guessing that i want the short type of motor since the p90 is a small gun, but someone please correct me if im wrong cause i dont want to make a $45 mistake
