JG G3 (anyone?)

Has anyone heard anything about the JG G3 (specifically the SG1)? I'm not too worried about the plastic as much as I am the internal quality and performance.

i am going to put a m120, new piston, rewire it with better wiring that it.

The performance is decent. RoF is good even with the crappy stock battery (large; 1500MaH...)
External durability seems to be somewhat lacking coming from a high-end standpoint.
The breakdown is kind of tedious, but not anywhere near as tedious as the TM M14 design.

The accuracy is pretty crappy. Now, we cleaned out the barrel and waxed it last night (and threw in a bucking that is either a TM or SRC). The barrel was extremely dirty. There was so much crap in it! It literally took like 10 minutes to clean it decently. We couldn't test the accuracy last night b/c it was dark.

It's a decent gun. But I'd definately recommend getting sniper2525's gun wholeheartedly. The weak points of a CA are the piston and the wiring, but with a new piston, M120, and new wiring, it should be an excellent field gun.

How many rounds did you put through the JG before you started work on it? I've heard from many places that the hop-up sucks at first for a hundred rounds or so, then breaks itself in and is amazingly accurate.

Also, do you know an approximate FPS for the JG?

It probably had like 1k rounds through it.

The gun is supposed to shoot 380. Whether it actually does shoot 380, we'll find out Saturday. But one of the things I've found with clones is that they don't all shoot the same exact FPS... Like a gun rated at 400 FPS might come shooting 400, but it could also come shooting like 375.

yeah I've found that out too. That's why I was wondering about FPS.

ex. My SCAR said 420 on one website, have seen reports of 380, mine is 396.

Sorry to add to off topic-ness but my p90 said it was 350 on the box it chrono'd 397.

the ca g3 is shooting 410 to 420 just to let u no the one i have for sale!

how does ur AUG compare?

they both shoot extremely far the g3 has the aug by over 50 ft though and the g3 is full metal!!
