Help with jammed M4 Empty Help with jammed M4

    Post  Black_Bart 25.06.09 19:40

OK....I just received my long awaited, first Airsoft Rifle. A G&P M4 from Evike.com.

I was thrilled to open it, charge up the Lipo and set a target. I shot about 30 .20g BB's through it..all in semi. It suddenly made a weird noise and it now will not fire. It makes an electric noise but it is very short and muffled each time I tried to pull the trigger. I figured a BB jam maybe. No unjamming/cleaning rod came with this rifle. I straightened a wire clothing hanger and gently pushed it down the barrel. I felt some resistance but then saw the end of the hanger through the bottom of the magazine well. So nothing in the barrel apparently. I read to try to turn down the hop-up. I tried to turn the hop-up wheel either direction and it won't budge. So what does that mean. Any suggestions or somewhere I can take this thing to get it looked at? I'm really afraid to do much to it because I don't know a thing about it. I don't want to tear it up already.

    AAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!! Why me!

Congrats on your new AEG. That really sucks that it failed on you the first day. I also am a noob so wont be able to give you any advice, But if you are mechanically inclined, Someone can probably tell you how to fix it on here. If you dont feel comfortable working on it yourself ypu can take it to Airdog. Their gun tech is really talented. Good luck

First off I would not be putting a coat hanger down your barrel. Good way to scratch your barrel, or screw up your hop up, especially the bucking. Secondly, did you fully charge your battery? And what kind of noise is it?

Yeah....I ordered a small type Lipo Battery and Lipo charger with the rifle. I charged it until the red light turned green (red: charging / green: charged ok). It was firing just fine for about 30 shots or so and then just abruptly stopped firing.

Instead of a quick, loud, normal firing sound. It is a slower, lower tone...kind of dragging. It does sound like the battery just isn't doing its job....but I did charge it fully....

I took the inner barrel and hop up apart. Realigned the bucking and reinstalled everything. It still does the same thing. I put the battery back on charge but it says it is charged.

Adjust your motor hieght. There's a grub screw on the bottom of the grip, in the center. Raise and lower the screw until you find the right position.

Yeah that's my next thought. Go slowly though. A little bit goes a long way.

Haha no problem. But keep turning it. It will get quieter, and the rate of fire will get faster. Then, after turning it a bit, it will start to get louder and the RoF will drop. You want to find the optimum spot, and keep it on that.
