So Billy Mays was found dead today in his home.

No Infomercial will ever be the same! He was by far the best pitchman alive!

Yeah he sold crap products, but the point is he still sold them and sold a lot of them.

That's a bummer. Hopefully everyone will stop obsessing over MJ now.

All respects to michael but i'm sick of all the news stations broadcasting his tributes. There are other entertainment programs for that. Rebroadcasting interviews, thriller, and the moonwalk is NOT news.

I am tired of celebrity mania in general. They are people just like everyone else and they don't deserve more recognition simply because they were in the spotlight. Just announce the death, pay them a brief tribute, and move on. Celebrities should not warrant this much attention ever unless they have actually done something important, such as bringing peace to the middle east. If someone did that, they would deserve to have trivutes in their name for weeks. But just because you are a controversial pop icon who has poor judgement and are completely screwed up in the head does not mean you warrant much attention. In my own opinion, he should be remembered, but he shouldn't be broadcast day and night on news channels. I completely agree with blackhawk that we have other channels to perform those purposes. If I'm wantching news, I want news. Not Michael Jackson's "face."

Agreed. There are any number of people who deserve or deserved real recognition such and Nelson Mandela, pope JP2, Thomas Jefferson, etc etc

Michael Jackson is conspicuously absent from this list.

Famous people need to stop dying! I turned on the news this morning and watched for almost 30 minutes, almost everything was about billy mays and michael jackson! the only thing on the news that was even remotely important was about madoff.... doesn't make any sense, especially when we have troops in iraq and afghanistan, a dispute with north korea, the conflicts in iran, and just general politics going on.

Especially when this guy is saying he will wipe the US off the earth...Personally I'm supprized he didn't commit sucide when MJ died....but I believe the only threat would be for N. Korea to hit there mark on one of those "Test Launches"

How many other artists have 27x platinum records? None. He was an icon to music just as well as a pedophile freak. There's two sides to every story.

Yeah teh only reason MJ is all over the news is because people took him for granted and now that hes gone people can't live with out knowing hes dead.

Actually, George Strait is certified by the RIAA to have 68x platinum records. Also, take a look at Elvis Presley and the Beatles, both of whom have more platinum records than MJ. And he may have been a pop icon but he deserves Bo more attention for that than anyone else. He was just a person who could sing relatively well.

Just make sure your facts are right before making absolute statements like that.

That's all of his albums combined though. MJ's thriller alone was 27x
