Unfortuently I had to pick the Navy. They have a whole bunch of cool stuff. Its amazing how warfare is these days. Also we all know SEALs are cool.
(PJs are coolier though. +1 for your vote Paul)

i had to pick Air Force because were the ones you call on to clear the skies and more of Air Force ground forces are doing the Army's job... such as combat patrols

I voted Army. Of course with over 18 years of service and still going, I guess I am a little biased. The Air Force does have the nicest bases, IMHO.

I voted Army. My brother in law was in the 82 Airborne for 8 years. Now he is Blackwater and making the big bucks.

Well, I'm in the Army, but I voted USAF cause their planes fight the majority of the wars so the Infantry doesn't ahve to. As for the USAF doing more combat patrols than Infantry units, thats a crock. 3 month deployments, endless whining, GO AIRFORCE !

Re: Which Branch of Service?
I have been told if you want to be a soldier join the Army, if you want to be a pilot join the Air Force, and if you want to be a warrior join the Navy. The Navy has the best overall arsenal of any branch and if you include the Marine Corps as part of the Navy, they really have it all. You can't beat our Navy

Re: Which Branch of Service?
Indeed, our Navy gives us the capability to fight fullscale wars overseas while still being able to amply defend out own country. This potent ability is what makes the U.S. the dominant military power on the planet. But when you want to seize and hold ground, you need the Army, and when you want to bring to arms the full destructive force of our military might, you need the AirForce. The cooperation of all three of these branches makes the U.S. Armed Forces quite the contender.

I agree with Paul, I wouldn't say there is a best branch. That's just like saying, what the worlds best gun. It all depends on the situation, location, what needs to be done, etc. etc. etc.

Army because of its excellent Infantry and special operations. Also like their equipment (except ACU and Stryker)... but in the future considering Air Force.

Out of loyalty to my branch, I have to say Army. But Paul, you make some weighty points. Sadly, I must still disagree. Our boys in the sky can't solve every problem for us.

Re: Which Branch of Service?
All good points, but the Navy can do everything that the other branches can do, just not on as large of a scale. When the US wants to project power in a region we send carriers. That speaks volumes. Also, dont forget the silent aspects of the Navy, monitoring all the oceans in the world, boomers, some now retrofitted to fire 128 tomahawks. They Navy can project unimaginable firepower anywhere in the world almost overnight. That is terrifying to our enemies.
