Which is better.....20 thread count per sq. inch, or 30? Here's the links I'm looking at to make a possible purchase.

I think it would be less count= More visibility and less safety. and vice-versa.

It says this under description: " Tough polycarbonate frame with steel mesh lenses."
also under the review it states the tested them from 2 feet at 420 FPS leaving a small dent only noticeable buy moving your finger across the mesh.

Safety wise youll be completely fine with those Mesh goggles. 420 fps point blank will never happen, unless your me, and even so, the goggles held up fine. On average your only getting hit at around 200-230 fps after you take into account the develocitation of the BB. I would go for the 20, not the 10 or the 30. Good visibility, and good safety.

I do like mesh goggles, but the flak jacks that airdog sell are GREAT! They never fog, they come with a carrying case, smoked lense, clear lense, and removable vents. And there only like $22 or $23. They can stop a bullet from a 22 rifle and a shot from a 12 gauge shotgun. This shows how reliable they are. But when ever i have had used mesh goggles, if your up close, i have had fragments of the bb come through and hit my eye once and near my eye a couple of times. It has happened to Zartan once too. When it hits the mesh... i guess it explodes or little pieces chip off and go through the mesh. Just for something to you to think about.

Yea, I never even got closer that 50-75 feet away from the enemy at Korphe without being spotted . I guess with time and practice i will learn to be stealthy.

Its not about stealth its about speed and power. Keep that guy pinned and move fast closer and closer till you have the angle on him and he doesnt realize it because his head has been down for so long.

Well that makes sense....I was just having fire fights from one position until one of us were hit. I'll def.try that at the next game

That is the norm . . . learn to work with someone else, supress, pin, flank . . . once you get the hang of it you'll be a natural! It was great meeting you . . . look forward to playing along side you and Morlock one day!
On the mesh note, I only use perforated steel and lean toward full fash protection . . . but I tend to err on the safe-side affraid

the only prob with mesh when i used to run with it was that sometimes like twitch said the bbs explode and send small fragments into your eyes thats why i switched back over to flak jacks

Won't argue that . . . the hard stainless mesh like we use can do that . . . have had it happen on two occaisions but no probs . . . dunno that there is a "perfect" option for airsoft goggles . . . we are currently trying out the marui style fan masks to see if they have potential and I am making lenses for a few types of goggles though without a die and press that is a slow option!

I think the smaller the holes you can get the lower the risk of fragmentation into the eyes. My goggles have taken numerous in game hits pretty much everywhere on the goggle and nothing has gotten in them. However at a point you begin to loose visibility once the holes get really small.

I would like to try some flakjaks because I have heard they have a "fog-resistant" layer on the inside.

Also you can buy fans to zip tie to the top of you goggle for like $40 or make them yourself. I might get a few little $5 computer fans and solder it up to a AA battery and see how it runs.

Flakjakcs are good but except for the color only comes in tan if you want the $20 one. Also for less fogging you might have to take off the inserts. I would reccomend ESS goggles as currently I use. Here's a good link to buy one http://cgi.ebay.com/US-MILITARY-ESS-LAND-OPS-GOGGLES-OD-GREEN-NIP_W0QQitemZ270419747366QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3ef645e226&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=|293%3A1|294%3A30 (just took the foam padding on the sides and still enough protection no fog)

Heres a link that shows how bad mesh masks could be do

From what i've heared cheap sports authority BBs and BIO bbs do most harm to the mesh mask

    Hope it help

Good info Blackhawk........I'll prob just go with the flak jak style and take out the razor things to prevent foging. I've had an eye injury before and it's not fun.

I think he was shooting .12 just to show what happens if someone was shooting them and you had the mask on.
