SRC has announced a NOV 2009 release of the first three (3) SR5 AEGS. These are going to be some durable AEGs. They used many of the real steel manufacturing process. For more details see the OnTarget Airsoft Facebook Page for more details:

Has SRC out G&G'd G&G? I remember a couple years ago when SRC was pretty much garbage... but these look awesome! I really hope that if they're going to have a three-round burst feature, that they have the right trigger group, because the one on the gun doesn't. It'd be a pity if it just did tri-burst when you flipped to what should be auto.

I'm working on getting them....but there is that darned ocean to cross and Customs Hoops to jump through...all in good time.

Alpine....SRC has jumped ahead light years with their new GEN3 line (Agreed on your past models "Garbage" quote). The Gearboxes alone are worth the extra $$, plus nylon fiber bodies and aluminum recievers (depending on the gun), make them solid. They are on par with G&G.

I already have my heart set on a different weapon but this still makes me drool, I'm quite pleased with the forward direction in quality that some airsoft manufacturers are taking. The price tag also isnt monstrous, which makes it that much better.

There has been quite a shake up in the ACM world. Many of the plants have been shutdown with owners being jailed (technically its illegal to make anything firearm related in Mainland China, different story in HK). You are going to start seeing a dwindling supply of cheap ACM guns. You are going to start seeing more and better product coming out of Taiwan (SRC, G&G, ICS, etc). The ACM manufacturers are going to be forced to move operations into HK, and that means higher prices. Who the heck is going to pay CA/SRC/G&G prices for ACM "quality" guns? Should be fun to watch!
