For some reason the pinion gear no longer engages, it just spins, or rather grinds. We removed the base plate and pushed the motor by hand and it still won't engage. The same thing happened to a JG M16 and we gave up on it but this is a new gun, only used in two games, any advise will help, maybe. Thanks

either pinion gear is stripped or the set screw on the pinion cam out so the gear is spinning in place... easy fix

Sounds like the bevel gear is ruined. This happens when the motor isnt properly aligned with the bevel, after awhile the pinion just chews away at the bevel.

If the gear box isn't disassembled then your not gonna be able to inspect the bevel properly to determine that. It's not gonna be the motor because Echo1 motors are half shafts so the pinion spinning on the shaft isn't possible. I say it's the bevel, piston back tooth broke off causing just the gears to spin or possibly a different broke gear causing the sector to not spin.

well it might actually be something in the gearbox itself because we cant even get the bevel gear to move, so we will have to take it apart and then determine

we just checked the gear and it just spins freely in the gearbox so my dad will crack the box tommorow and see what he can do to it
