I played my first game today (cqb) and found out my Masada is a little awkward to shoot (couldn't aim down sights good.) So now I'm thinking of getting a smaller gun. I have two narrowed down and would like to get everyones input as to which one to get. The two I have in mind are the Echo1 Task Force Black 6 and the G&G UMG. So which do you guys recommend?

G&G. Dont get an Echo 1. For the Price they are crappy guns. All Echo1 does is take guns like JG, slap Echo1 on them, hike the price up 30-40 dollars, and say its echo 1.

It's probably the Iron Face you were wearing. No one can aim down with that thing without feeling awkward. All it is, is personal preference. Never held a Masada so wouldn't know. I personally like m4s, and any m4/m16 variant.
As for brands, stay away from Echo1s as Twitch said. G&Gs are reliable, I have one that hasn't broken down on my yet and it takes a beating, and I bought it used. G&Gs are cheap too.

I would say stick with your Masada, invest the money you would spend for a new gun on some upgrades.

Try a red dot with a riser mount, it'll raise up the optic so you can see down it.

Which Masada do you have? A&K or Magpul?

I think its the A&K version. I bought it from a friend and he has the manual, but hasn't found it yet. I know the Magpul version has pretty much all the trademarks on it, this one doesn't.

The first gen A&K did not have trades the but later version did. you have the one with the stock that slides in and out right? if so that is the A&K and if it doesnt have trades then it is a Gen 1. What you could do is get the short barrel conversion for it and then fold the stock. I had one with a short barrel conversion.

I would stick with the masada. I'm also a bit afraid I'm going to open pandora's box with this comment but my JG G36 has lasted longer than any of me and my friends G&G's combined. I had given it to my friend after using it for a year then he used it for a year and is still using it every week. The only problem it had was something with the compression a few weeks ago that I fixed in 20 minutes. Every G&G we have owned has had some sort of problem. My experiences with budget AEG's have all been very good.

JG G36 is a good proven gun! I have seen plenty of problems with them as we have 5 broken rental guns at the shop right now but they are for sure a proven gun!!!!! Im a little scared of the new ones but it is one of a few China gun I would recommend!

We cut the barrels down and re-thread the outer barrels

That's my whole thing. I'm wanting something unique. That's why I threw out the UMG. I see tons of M4s, M16s, AR-15s and the like. That's one of the things that drew me to the Masada. I haven't seen too many of them. Wouldn't mind an ARES Tavor, but it's price tag is a little scary. And I believe that KWA is going to be doing a Kriss Vector this year. Of course everybody has their own spin on "pimping" their gun out, making each one as unique as the person shooting it. But I don't want your run of the mill gun.

My thing is about this is it really doesn't matter how unique your gun is. Its how it performs. Most likely anything that is "unique" is very expensive. For example the tavor like you said is very unique of a gun. But its lots of dough. And recently the have started making the Masada again and since I see atleast 10 at every game. The reason why lots of people have m4 is that everyones mags are compatible and if your going to start a team, its great to be able to share mags. Then ofcoarse there are other guns out there that take m4 mags as well. M4's in my opinion are the best kind of guns out there. The feel, the custom-ability, and the prices for their accessories. If you get the newest gun out there, you may be out of luck with replacement parts, external add ons, etc. When my brother first got his masada, some of his parts weren't fixable. therefore if it were to break, he would be out of a gun. Now if you have a common gun like an mp5 or m4 they have every part. Just something think about when choosing your gun

You can get an M4 and then make it unique with paint and accessories.

no matter how unique your AEG is, you will eventually get bored with it and want to try something different. in other words, keep what you have and start a collection. it's like real steel, i missed my previous firearms after getting a unique expensive one.
when i bought my tavor, i really didn't know how unique it was and after awhile, having kids complimenting me on it gets old really quick. i'm a bull pup fan and my next project is a long barrel ps90 sniper.

i wouldn't get a new gun just because its awkward to look down the sights... maybe an eotech or something .. but no matter what you do airsoft guns will never be as accurate or comfortable as real steel.. plus full face pro gets in the way

in the end
pick the gun you love and make it your own
also sights on airsoft(for the most part)are for looks
look at the bb and adjust your aim for the target
for qcb pick up a good laser and sight it in on a paper plate at about 50 feet
then you can pop a man sized target from 10 to about 100 feet with the laser for targeting
