I am wondering if this produces the same amount of wear.

Scenario 1: Gun with 11v lipo making it shoot 25 rps.

Scenario 2: Gun with 7.4 lipo with high speed motor making the gun shoot 25 rps.

Do both these arrangments cause the same wear on gearbox, piston, gears, etc. ?

    Besides the trigger contacts.

If the gun shoots the same RPS then it will always cause the same wear. You will want a new piston and mosfet and at least m110 for 11.1 lipo plus i would recommend AOE for the piston. Also a gun with a 11.1 and a stock motor and gears will shoot only about 22rps and a gun with a 7.4 lipo with a high speed motor and stock gears will only do about 18 rps, not anywhere near 25rps.

What upgrades would the combat machine need to get it shooting with an m110?

I believe they already have an M110 in them, that or a M100

It varies between guns, usually around 340-370 with .20s
Madbull blue would provide better air compression that the stock bucking and increase the fps, now where it increases can vary the fps. In my old Desert Raider (glorified Combat Machine, same internals) it threw about 10-12 fps (after I disabled blowback of course). In my VFC M4 it added around 8.

What is your goal? Higher ROF? Higher FPS? I have a combat machine. That's why I'm asking. If you're wanting to just increase the ROF, get a Matrix Turbo or Echo 1 Max Speed motor. I have the Echo 1 motor in my combat machine and it shoots around 20 rps on a 9.6v battery. If you wanter a higher FPS, upgrading to a M120 spring will bring it up between 370-390 FPS. (I know that because some of my buddies are working on some custom combat machines using the combination of these parts. Chronoed to get their velocity ratings.)

I have found that by the time you buy a G&G or Echo and upgrade all this stuff you could have had KWA and probablly saved money. Personally I would suggest scratching and clawing and saving every penny to just go ahead and get a KWA. Dont get me wrong G&G is good stuff, but what your looking for you can get as is from a used KWA for around 200 to 250 on average.

Unless you wanting to build your own to gain the knowledge that is, but I think you are in the hunt for a your first weapon correct?

Very true. I'm learning to work and upgrade guns. That's why I have a combat machine (cheap platform to start with.) And I totally agree that if you're looking for a starter gun, find a used KWA and go for it. They are built like tanks.

I should probablly add that i personally suggest not making your primary weapon your project. I love to tinker with things so i really wanted a project gun, but when im ready to play i dont want to be waiting on parts or trying to fix problems. Get a reliable primary and look for a good price on a project later, just a tip.

Good tip. Only reason I'm using my project as a primary, is that it's close to completion. Only thing left for my project is a TBB, new hopup unit, rewire to xt60s (for a 7.4 lipo) and possibly a mosfet.
