    2" football things at walmart
    4 for $2 or $3
they shoot ok but do not fly like the nerfs
they are in the cheap party toy section
with the mortar that i made,a good one of them will fire from the safe area of acz
    down to the zombie base.

Find me a local source for this 2" ammo, and Ill start building an AT gun TODAY. Ims thinkink PAK37, ya?

Or you could try a shoulder-mounted weapon? I know it would be more prone to failure, but it would be really cool to try and chase down a tank as a foot soldier.

just a thought, with the cannon you already have, have you thought about using just one football and putting a rope/cord on the back of it so you wouldnt have to search for it after wards because it will be attached to the chasis

and also, if you want somewhat of a shotgun round, i have an idea for you
take a fin stabalized foot ball that will spiral through the air and put holes throughout it in a corkscrew fashion that will allow bbs to be fed into them and then when you fire it it will spew the bbs across the field showering the path to the main target, that way you take out the main target and can get some collateral damage as well

ya, basically just put a tornado grenade in the cannon and cover it with foam and link the pin of the grenade to the cannon so it goes off when fired.

Good ideas guys, Im still working on it. Its a tough problem...I guess thats why it has not been solved yet.

The question is: how to carry the bbs to the target area (or above the target area) together in a group, and then release (detonate) the bbs in a spread.

As far as the beehive we were trying- I used a disk-like plug then bbs then wadding. The plug was too thin however, and kept rolling before exiting the tube, causing very inconsistant results with the bbs. ... a plug longer than barrel diameter should solve this..tests tommorro.

Now i just thought of this so this has a high chance of failure why not put the bbs in some sort of bag type thing and shoot is at a upwards angle and when it hits the hight above the target it should go downward releasing the bbs yea this might work hahahah this is a big guess tho.

or back to the cord idea, you could use a canister of some sort with a latched lid and when it reaches its peak the cord yanks the lid of releasing the bbs

Ya, cord idea has been thought of.. But then you have 400ft of cord to keep up with, rewind, cut off, do something with. Not very fast or practical under fire. I doubt you want to send a tornado grenade 100' in the air 300' away at a group of people. Something says that does not seem like a very good idea!!!

It is a big problem and one that is not easy to solve with safety in mind....

Yep, we'll be with the Soviet forces for Fulda 2011. We played as Nato AT infantry last year, had a blast (and roasted 16 Soviet tanks total over the two days between the two launchers), but time to get mechanized.....Ferg's field is rather hilly and hard on my aging legs.

PVC pipe, even the same schedule (thickness) comes in several grades (in order of increasing strength): hollow core (avoid), drain waste vent (DWV), and pressurized pipe (often in a range of pressure ratings, some are printed right on the pipe) i.e. Lasko vs. Harvel vs. Cresline, etc. Their pressure ratings differ. It is sometimes difficult to find the pressure-rated stuff locally, remember that folks like McMaster-Carr and Grainger can be your friends. DWV stuff that is sch 40 is typically fine for some fittings (like plugs and caps), but you want pressure rated for the pipe itself and any large fittings like T's or Elbows.

As for the beehive round, the best success I've seen with one to date is with a thick section of pool noodle, cut as a plug at the rear, and another in front of a cupped round. The cupped section was made from two small dixie cups, open ends towards each other, with the BB's inside (loose). It was a pain to load, but really worked well in use. Perhaps useful info.
