Here's the scenario:
You are a special forces operator like JTF2, SBS or SFOD-Delta and you and the other three members are inserted in to a remote area of Afghanistan on a long duration mission.
Your mission is to recon enemy fighters positions and watch for any changes and try and find senior leadership. Along with that your also tasked with working with local anti-insurgent militia who are friendly to ISAF forces.
You've been given a choice of three weapons to take with you on this mission that will dropped in with you in a hard sided container and a separate container with roughly six months worth of ammo if you use it wisely.
Here are the restrictions and requirements for your weapon selection:
1)You are allowed 3 weapons that are man-portable and non-crew served. Two Primary weapons and one backup/secondary weapon.
2) Your two primary weapons must be small enough and light enough to be carried and operated by one person without assistance. They can be an assault rifle (M16A4, M4 Carbine), a sniper rifle (M40A3), a battle rifle (M14), a designated marksmen rifle (AR-10T), a light machine gun (FN MINIMI), a general purpose machine gun (M60), a sub machine gun (MP5A5),
3) There is a low chance that you will be able to be resupplied with ammo of other ordnance so it might be a good choice to pick a weapon that uses common ammunition especially ex-soviet weaponry and ammo.
4) you have to pack your weapons (at least two of them) with you a lot of the time, so lighter is better, you could try and hike and assault rifle and an M240, but that would get heavy after a while.
5) you won't be engaged in heavy close in fighting if you do everything right, so pick weapons with better range and accuracy; also you might have to eliminate some High Value Targets (HVT) from longer distances.
6) Your sidearm/backup weapon must be no more than 20 inches minimum length (ex. 20 inches with a weapons stock retracted or folded) it must be light enough that you can carry it in some sort of leg, hip or chest mount/holster. this should be just as combat capable as all your other weapons when used at the proper engagement range and scenario.
7) An M203 or similar UGL doesn't count as a seperate weapon, so customize your kit and pick your attachments, you'll need them.
alright there's the rules, pick your weapons and don't worry about the cost, we've got you covered, submit your proposals son and organize it in a followable manner.
