This is what my Loadout for F.E.A.R. looks like right now. Still need to paint the MICH black and maybe do some touch up on the RAV. Also, the laser sticks out so I need to hit with the Krylon as well.

IF the pictures actually post on this thing, let me know what you think so far.

I will be in black BDU's as well. I thought I had some DAPS (bicep body armor) but I must have turned it back in cause I can't find them jokers anywhere.

Going "old school" with the ALICE. In small(?) I think. Very nice choice. Add some "cat eyes" and some fastex buckles and it will be a little more "modern". Unless you are hauling serious weight in it, just wrap and tape the waist belt around back. Also, we used to tape 2 chem lights in the "v" of the frame at the bottom. Also also, if you have some, MRE's 2 will fit against the lower part of the frame, close to your back. This will save room in the bag while keeping them easy to get to so you don't have to open the bag to get them. blah, blah, blah.......even though it is what.....about 50ish years old, the ALICE is still a pretty good ruck.

i love it,im going to pack some MRE's and extra water in it just for weight. but i was going for (minus the rifle) grenada invasion look.what are cat eyes? and fastex buckles?

CAT EYES are little markings that go on the top flap of the ruck. They are made with stuff called Luminous Tape. It absorbs light then glows in the dark. Most units just put 2 - 1" x 1/2" pieces spaced 1" apart, centered, just above where the velcro is.

FASTEX buckles are quick release buckles. Ranger Joe's sells some that are specifically made for the ALICE ruck main straps. You can also take your ruck there and have them put the buckels on the outside main pockets. It make getting into/out of your ruck much much faster.

For more comfort, several company's make replacement shoulder straps and kidney pads. They can get to be pretty $$$ but, if you REALLY use your ruck, they are worth the cash. I have some of each made by TACTICAL TAILOR. I got them at RANGER JOE'S I think.

ITW FASTEX buckles are nice, and UTX buckes are nice as well.

UTX buckles are excellent. Maxpedition uses them on their bags, the "stealth warrior" ones. They're actually really quiet. Very good quality
