Last summer, a few vendors were selling EOtac apparrel for dirt cheap since, the manufacturer had just gone out of business. I needed a good tan pattern (a Blue Hole game was coming up), and I wanted something a little different, and, boom!, I found a set of EOtac A-TACS online for half-price. I got it and, Gucci-schmucci, I really liked it. For one thing, it was a darker, browner color than I was expecting, a real plus. And, hell, you couldn't beat EOtac for quality (which may be why they went belly up; the stuff was too good for what they were charging).
So here are some personal observations, take them as you will:
Spring and summer foliage: no surprises, it's at least better than blaze orange and yes, better than ACU/DCU; in other words, not outstanding but not useless, either (for these conditions, I still favor flecktarn first, DPM second)
Winter: very, very good; granted, this is after using A-TACS only once in winter woodlands skirmishing, but it worked for me, especially prone on leaf litter
Urban, indoor CQB: best, hands down; SS and smoke, A-ATACS is an invisibility cloak
Op: SOCO: I have walked Battlezone near Bowman a couple of times, and I think A-TACS might be effective for most of the areas in play for Op: SOCO (as fallout would say, your mileage may vary)
So, I have to say, I'm a fan of A-TACS, and I don't care if doing so brands me Gucci or not. It looks cool, it's different, and it works; if I had the cash, I'd probably pick up some A-TACS FG. Besides, it's standard issue on Endor.
