SS Airsoft Store and Arena: Updated to August 11, 2012
For all that have been, you will enjoy the new arena. For the players that have not, you must try to experience it.
The player still has to do the same checking as you have before. One of the biggest changes is the location, absents, of the tech room. But that will be apart of the walkthrough. You must have a barrel bag for you weapon, and with a good selection of them, you will have one for a very good price.
When you get your receipt, do not lose it, and your arm band, you then can go into the arena main doors. But you need to stop and check out all the items that they have on display for all your airsofting needs. Just remember that they have many items and will price match any local airsoft stores advertised price, as per their sign in the front of their store.
As you enter the arena, you will find the same setup as before. There is a small bench area that the safety briefing will be played from a DVD. It is simple and slightly entertaining. Remember that safety and honor is the only way to play. If you are not safe you will get yourself hurt and if you have no honor, you will be a cockroach. Guess what, it is not fun trying to kill a cockroach, they do not die…
After the briefing, you get to set your gear up on a table staging area. After you get your gun prepped, you hand it to a ref for them to chrono with their own mag. They have a cap of 400fps with .20g. If your gun is to hot, they will install a reducer inner barrel (for a charge and ID holding), to get it to their level. And yes it did work. My ICS was with 125 spring shooting 420fps. After the barrel install, it dropped to 360 fps. But word of wise, your hopup will become un-effective.
As for the tech area, Mitch has his room in the rear of the staging area, with his own office. You walk up to the window and he will help you as needed.
They have a very nice recharging area that will fast charge your batteries. They have two LiPo charger/balancer for those that have LiPo batteries.
The briefing tent is now moved out to the edge of the field. As I was told during the walk though, each zone now have their own a/c system. They have the same benches and have plenty of room for all.
Games are the same but the location of placement is now more diverse. Briefings go smoothly and with the same rules as before.
Now the arena. IT IS MUCH BIGGER!!
You have 75 feet longer to play in. The buildings are the same just a few more structures as well as longer lanes of fire. You have to move quickly and with more team work to use the field in this setup. I have found that the buildings, at this time, are stacked more on one side then the other. But they just got the last bit of trash out a few moments before they open. So it was a darn good job for the time they had. Now they can fine tune the building placements.
The fans helped out so much on fogging and air movement. Not an issue on rounds moving off of target by air. Very good job.
Staff was all on the ball from start to the end of the arena playing time.
You need not take my word for it, go play there yourself. Remember play hard with safety and honor. And bring the new players so we can have our hobby grow.
