    Hey Ghost,

All of our games are objective and point based.
Example = first team to score 100 points wins.

Every game has a point scale:
1 pt = airsoft gun elimination
20 pts = eliminating a player with the dodgeball (direct hit)
20 pts = scoring a goal. Each team has one goal on their half of the field. The goal location changes every game, as do the obstacles.
50 pts = eliminating a player by removing their flag belt.

Come play, I'd love any feedback we can get from airsofters in the Atlanta area.

    Post  AirSport 18.09.12 22:12

    Our rules are simple:
Each game every player has UNLIMITED re-starts. If you are eliminated during the game, by airsoft gun, ball, or flag belt, simply return to your team starting position and re-join the game. We've found this promotes more time actually on the field, more fun, and more honesty.

The object of most games is to score points, like traditional sports.

400 fps measured with .20grams, for automatics.
550 for manual spring guns, like snipers.

So while your shooting players, your also trying to hit them with a dodgeball and chasing them around to take a flag belt?

not my kind of play. i just want to shoot people... alot, with a bunch of bbs. all within a second. then watch them not call their hits. then i shoot them again. with alot of bbs. all within a second. it's fun...

550 bolt action for indoors? that's gonna hurt... awesome.

I am a ref there and I can tell where people come from by their barrel socks. People from mil-sim seem to love the game.

Airsport is a much faster paced game than mil-sim, much more teamwork is involved passing balls around the court. Very little camping because people are moving much more than in mil-sim. Just waiting for someone to walk into your field of fire is not as good a strategy as in mil-sim because now you become an easy target for a 50 point flag pull.

When I first heard of it I had the same reaction as A|ex, but when you see it played or play there you can have a great time doing something that is peace and competition based rather than pretending to be in a war killing people.

    Paul is onto something here.

    Peace

well my question would be then is it airsoft? airsoft is ,by definition ,a military or combat simulation hobby/sport
Airsoft is a recreational activity in which participants eliminate opponents by hitting each other with spherical non-metallic pellets launched via replica firearms.
Gameplay varies in style and composition but often range from short-term skirmishes, organized scenarios, military simulations, or historical reenactments. Combat situations on the battlefield often involve the use of common military tactics to achieve objectives set in each game. Participants typically emulate the tactical equipment and accessories used by modern military and police organizations.
(i used wiki because it's the first item up when you google "definition of airsoft")

....or is it dodgesoccerflaghandball with airsoft guns for gaining an extra couple of points?...if that is the case, it's not airsoft..though i do agree that some posted videos would be in order....at least so everyone can understand a concept that seems pretty confusing to me...i mean ,given that airsoft eliminations only count for a SINGLE point...why even have the full size guns in the way at all?...or just use pistols or something....

    Great questions.

    Thanks for the comment Phil.

Airsoft guns shoot 6mm plastic bbs.

The sport of airsoft, or AirSport, is 100% airsoft.
The game functions just like traditional "military" style airsoft games, except at AirSport players have the option to score points and win games in a variety of ways, not just with their airsoft gun.
Most games are scored like this:
    1 pt = airsoft gun
20 pts = scoring a goal on opponents goal
50 pts = removing an opponents flag belt.

In traditional airsoft games, there is no reason to advance, or to communicate with your teammates. You can literally camp in the back of the field and just take long range shots all day.
In AirSport, players have reasons to advance, and to use teamwork to advance, and score goals.

I would love for you guys to come play, we are open 7 days a week.
    Regular prices are:
    $7.50 an hour
    $15 for all day
    $35 for all month.

If you mention that you read this post, you guys can play for 50% off of these rates. So just 3.75 an hour or 7.50 all day.

We re-design the field hourly. The obstacles are 100% mobile. And indistructable.

    My email is Paul@PlayAirSport. com
and my cell number is 770-876-5342

Hit me up if you guys want to come play.

We are having our grand opening on 10/13, teaming up with Airsoft Atlanta for an awesome day of airsoft game play, free guns, and more.

Yeah, In fact I'm more worried about someone whipping around and smashing me in the face with a stock or something than my stuff getting broken.

Good point! I have been smashed into numerous times at airdog, But I just think there is the going to be even more contact than an already close cqb match when your intentionally running up at full speed to people to pull their flag.

    Ghost and Savoy6,

    Great concerns/questions.

AirSport, just like traditional airsoft, involves NO physical contact.
Our obstacles are indestructible. Most traditional airsoft fields use 1/4'' thick plywood, in my opinion is not the safest or most durable option.

I want to invite you both out to come play, and please give us any feedback positive and negative on our field and gameplay.

Mention the MAA forum and you can both play for $7.50 for all day, or $17.50 for an UNLIMITED all month pass.

    Thanks guys.

    Alex,

My wife's entire family is from Tyrone, and we have players from the Southside suburbs come play a lot.

Your earlier post you mentioned you like to shoot bbs, a lot of bbs. And then keep shooting. This is totally an option at our field. Most players strictly score points by shooting the first hour or so, then try other ways to score. But again, the option is totally up to each player. You wanna score points only with your airsoft gun, do it. You wanna switch to a GBB sidearm and advance up field for some goals and flag pulls, do it.

Please come play whenever you can.
