Well, we want to thanks everyone again for coming out this past weekend. What a blast! Saturday morning came along with a little bit of surprise: snow! It started up around seven and honestly, had me worried for awhile. However, the sun came up and saved the day!
The game started with Henry Kim leading the invading Allied (tan) forces against Danny Johnson (Mojo) rallying the defending Japanese (green). As the first round commenced, both teams fought for control of the two landing beaches and the two minor objectives for each. As the battle began to unfold, the Japanese special forces entered the field of play. Their assignment was to escort the HVT to each of four smaller points to establish defensive buffers, then to a final point to have the HVT extracted. However, their time running out, they chose to cut it short, make for the extract and take a smaller amount of points.
Following that, the Tan Special Forces entered. Their mission, with a smaller time limit, was far simpler: escort a hired marksman to eliminate the Japanese Commander. With just minutes left on this mission timer, the located and eliminated Mojo. However, at the end of the round, Green team found themselves with a commanding lead. The second round, directly before dinner break, was simple: capture and control as many points as possible. Tan was able to make up some ground, and went into the night trailing but only 400 points. With only a small number of players committed to night play, we kept it short due to the cold and did not score it for the scenario.
As Sunday morning picked up, Tan still trailing Green, they had no choice but to result to the use of high yield warheads in order to break the Japanese will. As the round began, they successfully retrieved both warheads, and managed to detonate the first warhead inside the Tokyo objective. The final detonation position: the Green HQ. To win this round, and the entire event, Tan needed to detonate the warhead inside Green HQ. Henry rallied the entirety of Tan team to engage the Green HQ. Surrounded on three sides, Mojo and the Green defenders set a defense and held on. Ghost and Andy rallied Tan forces down from Overwatch and charged. As victory seemed imminent, the Green tank roared into action. Ripping back and forth, the tank pushed back the Tan attackers, allowing the Green forces some much needed breathing room. Tan made several attempts with to destroy the tank, but missed repeatedly. As the firefight continued, the timer ran out.
At the end of the day, Green forces were successful at repelling the Tan invasion. We want to thank everyone for coming out and sticking out through the cold, Airsoft Junkiez, Battlezone, and last but not least the Henry and Danny for commanding their respective teams. We hope to see you all out at the next event. If you have any pictures/video of the game, please email them to me at oda105ga@gmail.com
