Today I got a bar10 today from |337( many thanks) I really love it the volt pull is nice and smooth it's accurate and goes far. But like with any gun I get I always want some upgrades. The gun current has an airbrake mod which I guess is nice? But I would like to upgrade the spring but in order for me to do this do I need to upgrade the piston or spring guide etc? Right now it's probably shooting around 400-420, and I would like in the mid to upper 400s. So I was looking at the lalax 140 or 150 spring. But my original question is do I need to upgrade anything else in order for it to function well?

Re: Bar10 upgrades
I would say the spring, piston, piston head, spring guide, and for kicks, you can upgrade the barrel to a new hop b.

Re: Bar10 upgrades
with a 150 i would recomend a ball bearing spring guide made byu laylax, the spring and us should be good with that but eventualy replace the piston.... bc the plastic one will eventualy break

Re: Bar10 upgrades
These suggestions are not correct. There are several different pistons. Also you are going to need to upgrade sears or trigger system. They will fail. I would recommend the zero trigger by laylax, it comes with a piston. But this is a very expensive way to go, but you decided to be the sniper role and will not get out of it cheap without being ineffective. This is what you need to do. Go to airsoftforums.com and read everything in the sniper section and especially in the VSR-10 section. You will find lots of information there.
Edit:Also your first upgrade should be tbb and a bucking, again do more research about that.

Yeah it will be EXPENSIVE! Honestly I dont see you doing the upgrades as it could be as much as 400.00 to do everything needed to be reliable! I personally think its a waste of money, but thats just me.

Re: Bar10 upgrades
Also there are many guys who spend over a grand in their sniper rifles in effort to get to that 100 yd mark. Including gun I spent over 600 in my Bar-10, and was shooting like 220 ft, which as we well know can be reached with aegs. So basically if you do not go all the way, then you are wasting your time and just giving yourself a ROF disadvantage. Also you aren't going to be getting kills like you are used to. 10 kills in an entire day for a sniper is a freaking good sniper. Also it's best for big places to play, and use the radio more than the rifle, and ghille up (also which is no fun). But for springer only games, you'll own.
Edit: the best way to go if you really want to be an effective sniper is to save up and buy a right hook fabrication rifle. 100yds out of the box.

Re: Bar10 upgrades
Well even if I just put a spring in the shooting 460+ and put a new spring guide and piston will a zero trigger really be necessary?

Re: Bar10 upgrades
either that or hardened sears, promise you will be slam firing very soon. Also you cannot mix PDI and laylax parts. the springs are different diameters therefore throwing everything else off in the cylinder. Also if you are going to be seriously getting into the sniper role look up bore-up kits, this will further complicate things because you piston won't work but with the zero trigger you have to have the right angle on the end where it catches for it to work.

Re: Bar10 upgrades
Man you really need to go and read that stuff on ASF. Slam firing is where you pull the bolt back, it catches for a second then the piston slams forward and so does your bolt. It's rendering your gun useless. This will eventually happen with even a stock spring, so even with upgrading all you are going to do is lower the lifespan. I cannot stress this enough, being an airsoft sniper is going to be hard and expensive. Plus the constant tuning of your rifle is so necessary that it's almost not worth it.

Re: Bar10 upgrades
i have put well over a grand into mine and these facts are true... i no some one that ran a 150 in there gun bone stock and it lasted forever, yes its smart to upgrade the second sear and spring guide cetch bc over time they will fail but that is over time..... what i said will work but eventualy u want to upgrade evferything, and yes there are a few other pistons but i have had great results with the laylax...
