    Anyone ever been a part of a hunting camp??
    Well, if you have you already understand the basic concept behind the changes about to come with Area13.
    • -Website is up now www.area13airsoft.com
      -By-laws will be posted soon.
      -Membership will be determined a board of 8.
      1- Alpine: ICE
      2- Bboy:A-Style
      3- Cheif: Squad 144
      4- Frog: CK
      5- Kilo: GDAS
      6- Magister Mortis: PWNY
      7- Tinman: CK
      8- ????: This position will be filled by someone who shows good leadership and ethics as we get started.
      (Criteria for Membership Board are Over 21 and not employed by the airsoft industry.)

      -Motive is not-for-profit growth of the sport.

    Basically, $50 per person, $25 for second family member under 18, $10 for each subsequent.
    FOR A YEAR!
    Guests will be allowed, special events will be hosted, 1st event is scheduled for October 10th as a charity fund-raiser for Operation Homefront with ALL proceeds going to troops and their families. We will start receiving applications for membership beginning on Labor Day.
    Josh has offered to open a forum for MAA supporters to us soon so look for the Area13 intel there and on our website.
    We hope that this offers a cutting edge opportunity for folks to play airsoft year round at a greatly reduced rate . . . half the "battle" in airsoft is finding an affordable place to play. Area13 will be that place and will hopefully be on the cutting edge of the growth of the sport . . . we hope that many other field-owners will follow suit with this affordable and safe way to host large numbers of players just for the fun of the game and growth of the sport!
    (To answer a possible question, NO, I do not run Area13, Dave Shelnutt does . . . just jumping in with the announcement . . . it should be a blast!)

    Any time. No way for anyone to grow without help. I just cant wait to start playing some airsoft. Just gotta put some final touches on my LR.

    Big props to each of the guys on the Membership Board who have been so helpful in putting the framework of this together! We tried to pick a good representation from each active team that met the criteria of "over 21 and not employed by the airsoft industry" . . . these guys are great and we'll post names soon . . . just don't wanna get bogged down in the details yet . . . the overall concept is what Q-bald said . . .

    oh wow, that is a steal even if you do a event at least once a month it would be less than $10 per event, for a whole year. VERY ATTRACTIVE.

    Thanks Tinman for filling in for me made some more great contacts in Columbus and Phenix City tonight.Like Tinman stated we are trying something a little new.I wanted to say this sooner but we wanted to wait until saal was over.Yes it is with regret to say that a few things did not workout with airdog but airsoft will go on.I don't want anyone to think this is to pull anyone away from any airdog events. It is my wishes that you continue to play any field any event in Georgia that you can attend.Players have the right to choose what events or fields they want to play at and should never be put in the middle of a power struggle between fields or event holders.Area 13 will give players the ability to afford to play year around at our field with out breaking apart the penny bank.At the price we have selected for memberships this gives the player a good field to play on at a price they can afford and gives them the ability to afford to play at other events as well such as R.P.G., Paintball outfitter, The Vineyard Church Yard, George Town, Georgia Airsoft ,Battle Zone or any others that I may have missed.
    Thanks again to all the players who have supported all the local fields and have grown the sport. This is one of my ways of giving back.Also Thanks to all who has given there time and resources to start this new adventure.

    This is full of win not only for me but for PWNY as well. Area-13 has always been high up on the list of destination spots where PWNY likes to play. As we move forward as a team in our second year, we will make sure to play on fields that have a good price point and don't flucuate on those prices from one week to the next. There are a few places in our own area of LaGrange that we are looking to approach to get on the airsoft map, as well as a field in Carrollton that sounds like it will be smash mouth fun to play on. I think everyone knows that in airsoft, field variety is always at the forefront of what makes the sport exciting overall. That being said, with the pricing structure for Area-13, it allows players or teams for that matter to explore and play on other fields as well.

    Another huge plus for PWNY is being able to play on Sunday, which has pretty much always been our default day, seeing that we can get nearly the whole team out. Playing at Area-13 will allow for that to happen. I know the last time we played a Sunday date at Area-13 we got fifteen players out and had some of the most intense games that rivaled any game we played over the course of the previous year. I'm more than ready to get on board with something like this. Good job.

    We knew that would be a concern but; provided that a minor player has a parent/guardian waiver on file that specifies player/sponsors that are acceptable then the minor may play as long as that player/sponsor is present.     The sponsor can be anyone over 18 that has been approved by the parent or guardian of the player under 18. The main responsibility of a "sponsor" is to ensure a younger player has a way home after each game. The field sponsor is also there to help with things like contacting a parent should someone hurt an ankle or some other various injury. The purpose of this rule is to protect the field owner(s). For example, lets say that Scooter was coming to the event and Tinman could not. Tinman could choose Atlas, Sarge, or NJSC (any member over 18, these are just names I thought of) to be Scooter's field sponsor and Scooter could still play that day. The field sponsor would ensure that Scooter has a ride home and would be there to contact Scooters parents if needed.

    Thanks Frog and Jason for that explanation on Sponsorship rules.We want players under the age of 18 to have a chance to play as well.But we also need to have the parents accountable for their kids and so parents are encouraged to attend or play or have someone over the age of 18 sponsor that child for the day.And yes there has been times that we have ended the day from a game for me to discover that 3 or 4 kids can't reach their parents or ride for the day.This has happened several times in the past and even in the rain.It's not fair to the kid or to the field owner.So the best way to end that is to have the sponsorship for someone under 18.

    Also, just to let everyone know, those of us on the membership board are not getting "comped" on our membership. Each one of us is paying our full membership dues to be a part of this venture. As individuals ask about payment options and plans please keep in mind that the way we keep the dues low is to only exact enough in dues to cover expenses and insurance. There is no "profit" from which to pay additional insurance in advance . . . the field is insured based on number of anticipated players. When you do the math . . . this is pretty dang cheap!
