I am of the opinion that one of the most Un-American things you can do is call another citizen Un-American.

Freedom is priceless.... very true. Freedom isn't free... true. It takes money to make money..... true

Right now China is loaning us loads of money, they own us to an extent. If they keep giving us these loans they will own us. We could lose our freedom that way also.

Obama was spending money to make money (stimulus package). Wether it works or not? I don't know, but we gave Bush 8 years and now we're in this hole. I'm not saying it's all Bush's fault, but someone is partially responsible and He was The President at the time. I say partially because America has been on a repeating chain of feast and famine since the beginning of the nation. Again I'm not necessarily an Obama supporter, I'm just saying we gave Bush 8 years, Lets at least give Obama more than a short 8 months. If anybody thought we were going to get half-way out of a recession this amount of time, they're crazy. People said he was gonna take our guns and he didn't do that yet, we can have at least that much hope in him.

right, and I want to point out that Newt the Republican Majority Leader 1996-2006 (may be off a year or two) and several other both Republicans and Democrats pointed out that the Economy would end up the way it is now. However Nancy Polsi, Harry Reid and many others believed that What Newt and several others said was totally wrong and would never happen. Now you cant entirely blaim this on a group of individuals but I believe that the early Warning signs of this downfall by Newt and his congragation shouldnt have been taken lightly... I was reading online and I found this quote.. thought it was interesting "The Problem With Socialism Is You Eventually Run Out Of Other People's Money." - Margaret Thatcher

This is getting quite out of hand.

All I have to say is calling a patriotic American, an un-American, is like back handing them in the face. If someone ever did that to my face (and I'm sure any other true American) they would be on the ground in a second.... You guys need to calm down and rememeber that we are all AMERICAN, and that we live in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. God Bless the USA.

p.s.- If we start name callin and cussin n' junk I (or Admin) will close and/or delete the thread. This thread was made for mature (non-name calling) political discussion and debate.

Correct, Freedom is not Free, Freedom is earned. Bottomline. Not to get off subject but alot of individuals in this country don't appreciate the sacrafises made for them by those who have served in the Armed Forces. There are people who sit around and watch tv thinking it has always been free and For those who call us "Non-Americans" or "Un-Americans" don't relize what Kind of Freedom we have here, the freedoms of Speech and Assembly. The Freedom to do what you freely want. My father once told me that he thinks Every Individual should serve this country in a way that many have served them. I support the Troops and I relize what Freedoms they have given. I think every person should pay attention to those who have served. They don't deserve to be spit upon or called names. They deserve the respect from all the people in our country. But still there are those who are not thankful and sometimes I wonder what kind of world we would live in if we had given up. I can say one thing I would not want to be speaking German right now.

Yep. Which is one of the things that kind of gets me riled up about "flag burning" legislation. Do I hate it when people burn US flags? Yes. But I think that that's kind of what makes Amercans Americans. You've got the right to express how you feel about your government, goes all of the way back to the pre-revolutionary years.

Wartime economies tend to be the strongest. War industry creates jobs. WWII was what got us out of the depression, and the Civil War gave us the nudge we needed to hit the Industrial Revolution.

The economy now has less to do with the war and more to do with the fact that every 10 years or so, the bubble bursts. It happened with the dot-coms around 2000, and now it started with the housing market.

The one thing that really grinds my gears, is what former president jimmy carter said that it was un-american and RACIST to not support our president.

On the contrary it is american to express your ideas freely. Calling someone racist though for not supporting another president...especially from the mouth of a former president is just ludicrous.

Well, now that we're on the subject of the economy, I'd like to propose a new question...

How much control, if any, does the Federal Government have over the economy?

    W00t! Go Paul! +10000000000

I agree on one point you make but Obama spent the same amount of money in his three days of office that Bush spent in all or his 8 years. Now for Bush, I approved of most of his decisions... up until he had the border problems. I believe as a country we moved more towards bigger government when he had started cracking down on the borders. Now was it bad? I cant say it was really bad or good. It depends on the way you see the issue. I just believe we stepped more in the direction of More government. Its times like these that I wish Reagan was still president.

by using un american im not trying to back anyone in this forum into a corner come we all do the same thing on the week end is play airsoft and sports and have fun and i want to make sure that we can have this and that our children and childrens children can live in freedom this great nation the USA and im piss about the border thing to it nags me about that man

Indeed . . . current estimates are that nearly fifty cents of every deficit dollar we spend now is borrowed from China . . . the "stimulus" bill is only stimulating the Chinese economy.

On a technical note, JJAY, you need to post everything you have to say in one post, not 5 posts spread out. It makes for ALOT more room on the page, as well as being a forum rule.

    I already proposed the question!

Jjay, over the last two pages, we haven't even been able to discuss anything because people have been too busy trying to sort through your posts. If you don't follow the rules of the thread, you WILL be kicked out of the thread.

Please use some grammar. This isn't 4chan.

We all want to play airsoft! This is a thread about politics, and is meant for discussing these kinds of things. We just ask you to 1) Use some grammar and 2) Don't post more than one thread at a time.
