I wouldn't get a throat mic because I have never been able to understand anyone using them, unless you bought a legit one but those are usually very expensive. I reccomend the Pryme headsets, my entire team uses them and we love them, they're crystal clear and they stay in your ear.
We mostly use the 400A series,

A few of us use the 1400T series though,

The PTT's on them are very big, the pictures don't let on to that, this is the best pic I could find but they are about 2.5 inches long and 1.25 inches wide.

I use a motorola talkabout, if it's like yours it has a single pin plug. Pryme sells headsets with adapters to any type of radio so if it's the two pin motorola design than you can buy that. I think it's only the higher end motorolas that use the two pin design. We got a bunch of Motorola CP200 radios from on of our sponsors and we had to buy adapters so we could use the single pin plugs.
