So in short i picked up a project gun -- ECHO 1 E90 for 60 bucks. I'm going to go thru it and learn as I go building it up the way I would like it for a CQB Setup. So looking for some help on questions that come up as i go.

Issues when I bought it as far as functionality are (So Far) --

Semi mode does not work, pull the trigger and nothing happens

PO said the gearbox locks up sometimes and was currently locked up---- Got it home and plugged a 9.6v into it and it fired on Full Auto with no hiccups: SO that is ok for now.

If you guys know any tips about the issues listed please help me out.

First question, took the gearbox apart tune it up and the thing is CAKED in dark grease, seriously it seems it would be tough for the gears to even spin there is so much grease. There is not supposed to be this much grease correct??

Going to update the list as i go and post pics for other people IF I can.

That's good because I cleaned it all out, took mee 45 minutes but I got 99 percent of it out. Also when I removed the gb I noticed the cylinder was spun so that the rear port hole was inside against the gb wall. It wasn't showing on either side when the gb was assembeled. It did sound somewhat sluggish before the teardown, but I assume that is mostly from the 10 pounds of grease that was in side.

    Project P Nine Zero Dsc01511

Any idea as to what if any problems this hole not being open??

I didn't find anything that really stood out about making the semi function not work, and don't really know where to begin with that, anyone know of things to look for for this problem?

    Need some input here.

I'm looking to put this thing back together with a little higher ROF than stock, just would like it up around 25 bbps. Heres what I'm thinking and any input is very welcomed!

    G&P M120 High Speed motor
Matrix Element Ball Bearing Spring Guide
    M110 Spring
    AB Mosfet from Airdog
7.4v Lipo ( just want the long lasting version of a 9.6v so maybe a 15C??)

Anything else I should add or change?

Dont get a G&P motor, just get a matrix turbo.

Your probably going to want a new piston and some new gears as well.

Ok I dont think I want to do high speed gears, but I think your talking structural integrity anyway? Ive read you dont want to get a metallic piston for high speed setups, know anything about this?

Aluminum pistons will wear out your gears way too fast. Or well at least, everyone I know that has high speed setups don't use them.

http://www.airsoftpost.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_75_393&products_id=31899. When My Echo1 416 piston shredded I replaced it with this piston and it held up nicely.

Well there are some SHS gear auctions on ebay and they're half price of the Matrix sets thru Evike, with a US seller and Free Shipping.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/SHS-Airsoft-Standard-Torque-Flat-Gear-Set-AEG-/180615944934?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a0d8c9ae6

hope its not against the rules to post eBay links, but that's the SHS standard torque set. If thats the SHS brand which u speak of Im gonna need to get a set.
