    trying to pick a new gun. Empty trying to pick a new gun.

    Post  mwilson 13.05.11 12:34

    i currently have a e90 that is showing its age and im trying to upgrade so i can do field games in the woods by my house, but i would also like to be able to play CQB games with the same weapon. ive narrowed it down to 4 guns that i like. if you can tell me anything about the guns good or bad that would be great.

    i do know the masada, and the ASC-H run a little hot for CQB but i just got a new low power spring from a friend so thats out of the question.
    any help is greatly appreciated

    Get the G&G. It will be more reliable than the other two. I wouldn't go for the blow back though. Doesn't really make it more realistic and there is some debate as to whether or not it puts more stress on your internals.

    I'm amazed this forum isn't sponsored by G&G and KWA yet! if they only knew how many referrals MAA has given them they would surely give us free stuff lol

    SCAR = Junk
    Masada = OK
    G&G Non-blow = Good Dont get a blow back.

    Also I hope you consider buying it local from a store like us (Airdog) or another, before you think about supporting a store located in a state clear across the US. They can be bought local for about the same prices if not the same.

    Just my $0.02.....I took Rhino's advice about my G&G CM..."Just put an 11.1 and mosfet in it." Done. Runs like a champ. I have used it at several games now with no problems. I love it.

    Thank's Ryan!!!!!! cheers

    +1 on that, took the words right out of my mouth.

    If money weren't an issue and you wanted a scar get a VFC

    As for the masada the external upgrades for the most part are pricey and limited. My opinion

    That raider is an m4 platform.

    I learned from the best! (insert thumbs up emoticon here)

    Whatever you buy, get it from Airdog! They will go out of their way to help you, and you could probablly check the particular gun out in person, see how heavy it is and how it feels as an extension of your body that it will become Wink

    Props on doing research though! Info is free here.... for the most part.

    I don't mind the blowback on my raider. It's a pneumatic blowback system so I don't think it puts any extra stress on your gb. It's not realistic at all, but wouldn't be a con in my book.

    Its hard to get internal upgrades for it. It doesn't have a lot of aftermarket support. Plus its A&K, which is a kind of hit or miss manufacturer. At least IMO in is

    That is an Echo1. And for what your paying for it, it is way overpriced. the quality on Echo1's are terrible in my opinion and I speak from experience. Not only are the externals horrible and very plasticy, but the internals are not robust at all and will not last. you will need to replace almost all of them pretty much right off the bat.

    If you want a SCAR get a VFC scar, you wont be dissapointed.

    I think the best way to put it is, getting a good SCAR is going to require a good mound of cash regardless. The Masada isn't bad, but you can get BETTER for your money. KWA or G&G make excellent weapons, KWA for a higher price (and higher performance), and G&G for your more budget players. If you MUST get an Echo1/JG, get something from the G36 series. It really sucks to get your hands on a gun you think looks awesome and fits you perfectly to find that it won't hit anybody out on the field. Then it becomes a guilty reminder of your poor money spending decision. Hits you where it hurts the most. The wallet.

    I'm pretty sure Airdog can order them for you. I'm not sure if OnTarget has them or not.
