Re: Can you lipo a combat machine?
Put a mosfet in it so your trigger contacts dont get fried. A lot of people here have done that and have zero issues with combat machines running 11.1s

Re: Can you lipo a combat machine?
might want to upgrade your piston. 11.1v is great for rof, but i would stick with 7.4v until you get accustomed to LiPo's. it doesn't take much to smoke a motor with an 11.1v (if it stops shooting, don't keep trying). don't forget to change your connectors to whatever the LiPo comes with. also, you will need to get a balance charger. a LiPo monitor is optional, but recommended.
reed sells decent mosfets, but i prefer non-AB. i forget how much reed sells his. i have a few cheapo's that can handle 7.4v but i also have an AWS microfet for the 11.1v. it was $15 when i bought them, they went up to $20. AWS microfet withstood a gearbox lockup with the motor wires desoldering themselves on an 11.1v.

It will be fine with a low discharge 7.4v but if you want to upgrade to an 11.1v you will want to get a mosfet.
I have a redesign coming out soon that is on a circuit board. I'll post up more info when they are available.

Re: Can you lipo a combat machine?
I'm not an expert or anything but...
I've been running my combatmachine on a 7.4V lipo without a mosfet for a long time
And have no problems
My gearbox is stock by the way

Re: Can you lipo a combat machine?
it will eventually eat away your trigger contacts. i've replaced a few already and even one with 9.6v.
when your trigger pull reaches all the way to the back to fire, that's a sign of trigger contact block wear. if there is a delay after complete trigger pull, the trigger contact block needs to be replaced.

Re: Can you lipo a combat machine?
Alex you should put up a link to the video you did showing what it looks like within the trigger contacts on different batteries with and without fets. I think that would answer the questions.

Yeah man. Great work. I stumbled across that one day on your channel in a YouTube coma. That and the teenage driver backing out of the garage to the Benny hill theme. Classic and humorous.
