AIRDOG Airsoft presents OP: Southern Comfort (SOCO), the Georgia vs. South Carolina rematch!
Many of you recall the awesome game produced last year by Garret and crew.
The rematch is back and here in GA at Battlezone!

OP: SOCO (GA vs. South Carolina) - 03/10/12 Opsocopromo-2

    OP:SOCO Story line
In the year 2012, a squad from the 1st Brigade of the Georgia Militia Forces (GMF) scouts the disputed border between Georgia and South Carolina.
The region, known as “Battlezone”, has been a hot spot for conflict between the state militias for years.
The squad’s mission is to scout the region to identify the ideal locations for moonshine stills and production.
The specialized moonshine, nicknamed “Southern Comfort” by the GMF (SOCO for short), has revived age old family traditions in the art of distillery and is the source of income for the GMF operations statewide.

The recent activity by the GMF does not go unnoticed by the Federal Agents and local neighbors.
South Carolina scout squads and drones have been active in the Battlezone border region providing intelligence to the South Carolina Militia (SCM) community.
The latest intelligence indicates build up of materials and heavy troop activity in the area.
Preparing to retake the region from Georgia, the SC Militia leadership executes a plan for specialized and heavily armed teams of South Carolina Militia Operators to establish a forward base of operations at Battlezone and stop the moonshine production.

In the early hours of the morning, the squad from the GMF 1st Brigade nears the completion of their mission with the identification of the third and final location.
GMF Operators begin to radio the GPS coordinates back to GMF HQ.
The radio communication is interrupted by chatter and gun fire as the squad is ambushed by a South Carolina Militia unit.
Receiving only two of the three locations Georgia Militia Force units from around the state rally to the Battlezone border for the massive assault to secure key areas in the region and begin making SOCO.

Hi, you probably don't know me. I'm one of the founders of the AOSC, and I own southcarolinaairsoft.com (the AOSC homepage). Based on my experience over the years in SC airsoft, I would not expect any more than 40-50 SC players at this game, and here's why:

A huge number of SC's players are in the 14-18 bracket and either can't drive or won't drive to out of state games, much less SC games that are more than an hour from their homes. Of the minority that are adults, an even smaller percentage can afford to leave the immediate area for games. It's nothing against Georgia, it's just the way it is. Fulda Gap last year was the largest game in the US ever, and I think I counted about 40 SC players there. We live practically next door, and that's the most we could muster.

I know I probably won't be attending simply because I already have pre-existing engagements that weekend that probably can't be changed, but I wish you the best of luck.

we hope to get a turn out like we gave the first sc/ga game,i think we had 150 or so players from ga
even if you can't make it try to pimp it to all the sc players.
we want a good turn out and you guys need some revenge

yeah ,well...over on the AOSC boards they are already talking about how there will probably be less than 40 people showing up..one poster was writing about how "I think you overestimate the will of SC to travel..." on one of their threads....though i think this is more of an issue of the sizes of each states player bases than anything else....
i mean..i'd love to go to this...but whats the point if only a third of one side is going to be actual SC folks.....SC vs GA is supposed to be the point of this...right?

and i love the title of this op.....haven't seen that name in many years..lol..

If they dont show they are panzies, thats the simplist way to put it. we went to south carolina last time, so now they can come to us. + its a stones throw from south C. its not really that far

First, sorry to say that I'll be in Oklahoma at OP: East Wind 5 all that week (yes, the whole week), which means no little flamethrower tank helping GA this time. Sorry guys, I do wish you luck though, and am a bit sad that I will miss this.

Second, Tak, you need to take what Steevols said very seriously, that is have a contingency plan in place for a 200 (GA) vs. 40 (SC) turnout on the day of.
I travel to SC to play with some regularity, and he's right, they really do not have the kind of numbers over there that we do to begin with, and many of those are under 18 and simply cannot travel more than an hour or so for an away game. Call it what you will, but be prepared to deal with the reality.

hope the sc guys will show
from my shop to Newberry SC was a 400 mile round trip.
from Newberry SC to battlezone is only a 200 mile round trip
show up sc pre reg for this one.

tak can we chrono this game with .25s,if you remember they chrono with .25s in SC.
i do not think it will make much of a difference, but it may make more of them show as long as they don't think there guns are to hot to play.
from what i saw at the chrono and on the field they had sub 400 fps guns anyway.
