Apparently there will be a Georgia vs. Florida game next month. Does anyone have any info on this one? Is it official?

i'm in contact with Dave Kaplan who runs combat city. he is wide open to game scenarios. he will accommodate what type of game we would like.
as for now, 450 fps limits on AEG's. 24 hour Op if we choose.
he asks to post up the Op rules on his forum then let the details and changes fall in place.

we can use the SoCo as a continuation...

the outdoor event is not going to happen...
after speaking with the field owner, he was expecting around 300 players from GA. i told him it would be much less than 100 players. it was a disappointing phone conversation. there are no refs and he didn't think anyone on the FL side will be playing during the night portion of a 24 hour op. i explained that we enjoy and have played many 24 hour ops. he was also surprised that a number of younger kids also traveled to out of state games.
but with a smaller number of players of 50~60, he recommended playing the indoor arena. i mentioned that most of the players traveling are outdoor players. he wasn't aware of the months in advance needed to plan out which Ops to attend. he also wasn't aware of any larger out of state Ops such as Fulda Gap. considering how unorganized the game would be for feb 23, i recommended to cancel or push it back later on until i could visit the field and advertise it properly. my apologies for those that took the days off for this event. i don't think it would have been a success with the limited time given. the field owner plans out large local events within a week's notice and didn't expect out of state players to need more than several months notice.
the field owner was open to any game scenarios and i wasn't prepared to organize the entire event by myself without at least visiting the field. the fault was mine, i was expecting for the field owner to setup the scenario based on his previous games, but he said it was all up to me to set it up and run it as i wished. unfortunately, i never ran an OP. with about a month to go, i don't think it was possible.
we're going to wait until Tuesday to official announce that the outdoor event is cancelled and if there's enough teams committed to play, then it will be an indoor challenge. i'll try to get in touch with the indoor players to get a head count.
sorry folks...
as for now, if there's enough interest, he's offering an indoor game challenge between GA and FL. the numbers will be adequate and his indoor arena can hold over 100 players. just to let everyone know, this all started when i heard about the GA vs FL game and asked around. for some odd reason, it fell on my lap. when i first contacted the field owner, he said someone contacted him about the event and never followed through. i then spoke to the person who contacted the field owner and said the field owner was planning the event... and that's when i got involved. the owner wanted to host the event the week after Christmas. i persuaded him to push it back to Feb 23 so we can get a head count. but unfortunately, everyone wanted details before making a commitment and the planning didn't go as i hoped.

well their field is one of the only large outdoors in his area and was also the only field that younger players could go to in the area for a while.so there is a regular local turn out for normal weekends of more than 200 kids.so he's used to having those numbers locked in.because of that the idea of folks having to have a few months notice for work and travel plans eludes him...lol...also,the community non-awareness is something we've seen in other places...usually it's because somebody isn't really interested in anything airsoft related outside of the folks that hit his field every weekend....can't believe he just figured you'd all the work for him..lol..

I'm still interested in forming an indoor team for combat city, but the question is how many Georgia will it take to hold our own?
P.S. - Hey poopdaddy, I've been looking at bikes for awhile now. Do you know where I can find a good deal?
