I want to make my SD5 as silent as possible. On my list there is Good shim job, PDI rolling bearings, silent piston head/cylinder head, and M110 or M100 spring. Any ideas would be helpful.

You can start by eliminating space between the mechbox and the body. As for making a silencer you need a longer barrel and a new flashhider or flashider you made yourself.
There are several ways to make a flash hider extension. The most common used material is PVC. but if you want layers of foam a monster can or other drink can will work.

Yeah the silent piston head does nothing, but foaming the gearbox is the best idea, but very hard to do unless you know what your doing, but it still doesnt do that much.

What do you mean foaming? like shoving cotton balls around it?

no no hahah like spray foam man but it is extremely hard to do and a foam silencer wont do anything either 95% of sound comes from the mech box so there aint much u can do. just live wit it being silent is only good for night wars man

No, silencers do quiet a bit. As do silent heads and sorbo. It might not sound different when your shooting it but the sound doesn't carry nearly as far.

Re: CA SDMP5 silent upgrade list
Yea cotton balls in the silencer/flashider surrounding barrel and Foam where the barrel no longer sticks out will effectively suppress the popping sound you get from the BB. I can install the longer TBB and make you a silencer that is compatible with the threads on your gun. Custom fit. And I don't know if this will work but i have a spare memory foam pillow i may cut up and install in this silencer. to buffer the cotton and hard foam. Would this be ok?

Re: CA SDMP5 silent upgrade list
Angel has a silent tower unit for long-type motors. Not sure if it will do a whole lot, but it might help.
Foam-filled suppressors help a good bit from my experience, though you will still have some noise unless you've got a V7 gearbox.

Get an EG1000 to, they are the quietest motor on the market and very power efficient.

Re: CA SDMP5 silent upgrade list
It still wont get him a "silenced" weapon, all of that might make it 10% quieter but not enough for it to be worth the time.
