Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
What really ticks me off about the original video; basically nobody except that last guy knew how to hold a gun. To begin with, notice how far back most of their bodies were arched. Half of them didn't even have it shouldered firmly enough.
On the other hand...
HAHAHAHAHA that's hilarious! I've seen it before and could watch it another million times and STILL keep laughing!

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
Well, if you pay attention closely, it looks like the last guy was shooting a different gun. It was a different color than what the other people were shooting. It could be the same gun, but its just kinda strange that the last guy was the only person to handle it and it looked as if it was a different gun

I think its just different lighting, I bet that guy is pretty experienced and I don't doubt that someone could handle a gun like that.

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
People can definitely take the gun, most just don't expect it... I mean really, think about the size of the bullet. You could tell the last guy knew what he was doing. He was the only one to put the gun back into the stand AND clear the chamber.

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
Idk about that, I mean, even some more experienced shooters might have alot of trouble keeping that weapon in their hands. Did you ever consider that some of the people intentionally let it fly out of their arms? The guy who did hold onto probably has quite the bruise...

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
That particular calibre is quite a beast. It is rather pointless for use in hunting and is typically meant as a last resort rifle if you need to stop something large that is determined to kill you. IE a big friendly hippo that wants to sink its teeth into you.
That aside, it's a funny video.

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
haha, very true Spectre. Hippos are surprisingly deadly!
And I can also say from experience shooting that the last guy probably was bruised much less than the others. When you shoulder and hold a gun properly, much more of the force is absorbed and spread through your body. When a gun is not held properly (ie the other guys), it has the ability to recoil and gain speed before it hits your arm / shoulder. This will cause a much larger bruise because obviously higher speed = more force with the same mass. The guy who shoulders it properly absorbs that force and doesn't allow the gun to gain as much speed. Instead, his body absorbs it. You'll notice in the video how far up the gun goes; this is because he absorbed the force into his shoulder and let his body move instead of the gun (to an extent).

Re: .557 T-Rex rifle
Indeed, when a weapon is properly shouldered, the force does get distributed throughout the body rather than onto a single area such as the shoulder. Allowing your body to absorb the recoil does, like you said, generally not bruise. Space between the stock and shoulder = acceleration towards the shoulder = very very bad = hurt.
