Re: Recommended m4
I hear the new CA 2009 M4s are nice, but budget wise the echo m4 isnt bad and it gives you money left over for things for it i.e. upgrades, magazines, metal body, whatever you want

Re: Recommended m4
I would also recomend any of the G&G Plastica series or the Combat Machine ones. The ASGI G4 Series are also real nice aswell

Re: Recommended m4
Grab yourself a G&G ProSeries M4. Best performance out of the box without question.

Also give us more of an idea of what you want to do with it. Are you looking to just gut it and upgrade everything? Looking for something stock that will last and compete for a couple years? DMR, CQB, Assault? all of these will help us help you

Well I am part of the community that believes if you are going to upgrade the gun pretty soon then why not start with a clone? for example you could by my JG S-SYS for 100 and then dump 150 worth of upgrades into it this weekend

I'm part of the community that's tried to upgrade clones many times, and can tell you for certain that a $120 clone + $130 worth of upgrades does NOT equal a $250 gun. Yeah, some parts of the gun might be good, but you'll be left with a bunch of other parts that aren't. And with clones, upgrade compatibility is a big problem. Anyone who's worked on lots of clones can tell you that lots of parts wont fit, and due to poor tolerances/QC, you can't know which parts won't fit in a particular gun without testing it.NJSC wrote:Well I am part of the community that believes if you are going to upgrade the gun pretty soon then why not start with a clone? for example you could by my JG S-SYS for 100 and then dump 150 worth of upgrades into it this weekend
I say get a G&G M4, the proline/pro series. They are strong enough all around that you can drop in a spring and bucking and have a pretty nice gun.

Re: Recommended m4
I second everyone who recommends the G&G M4. G&G makes a very solid, very reliable gun.

I'd wait for the new Classic Army M15 models. those are going to be shooting at a nice 400 fps, so you shouldn't have to upgrade it right away

+1 These guns are sick and shoot great out of the box. Plus most of the gun is very sturdy and almost all metal.

Re: Recommended m4
AGM has stepped up their game lately and I know their stubby is pretty good and a very upgradable gun, but other than that I don't know. I heard the AGM 614 is a good gun, but 614 isn't a m4 but similar platform.

Re: Recommended m4
Yeah, AGM's recent stuff is pretty decent, but I'd still go with a G&G. CA would be my #2 choice. Hopefully the new CA motors will be good.Airsoftguy238 wrote:AGM has stepped up their game lately and I know their stubby is pretty good and a very upgradable gun, but other than that I don't know. I have been disappointed with what I have seen from CA of late.

Re: Recommended m4
yes, your going to need a m120 spring which will land you around 400 fps

Re: Recommended m4
Differences between CM and Proline:
CM: nylon fiber body
CM: lower torque motor
CM: potmetal outer barrel, whereas proline is aluminum.
CM: lower-quality barrel
CM: lower-quality piston.
All of this information I received from WarChild on either Arnies or ASB (can't remember which), who is the owner of The War Store, the largest G&G retailer on the eastern seaboard.
I'd personally just spring for the proline. But if you're getting the CM, it could probably take an M120 out of the box. But you will suffer a greater drop in RoF that you would with a proline, and the piston will probably wear out sooner. If you are going to upgrade the spring, I'd say get a 9.6v battery or a 7.4v lipo and a new piston. Check the shimming too.
