    and I use a 7.4 lipo
    Its shooting around 380-390 fps

^^^ what he said, most likely an m120 with excellent airseal. i have a JBU 6.03 TB, madbull blue and JBU m120 spring chrono at 418-420 fps with hopup adjusted using .20g. using heavier weight bbs .25-.28 will be more consistent and will increase effective range. i prefer golden ball bbs.

you might want to experiment with an H-nub.

A new spring or more powerful one is not going to help with accuracy. It will get the "bb" there faster. I think you should look at the hop-up parts and fine tuning the adjustments. Having the barrel completely centered will get the "BB" spinning perfectly up and down. A good bucking and nub is another thing you need. A longer barrel would also help, you should also consider a tighter bore 6.01-6.02. You would have keep the barrel clean all the time to avoid jams. The tighter the bore the more air stays behind the "bb" in the barrel.

Is there better hopup units out there than the stock G&G one?

a hopup unit is just something that holds the barrel and bucking/nub. I have never seen an improvement when going with aftermarket units. But if you want one I have a prometheus neo chamber that I can sell you (it was only used 10 mins for testing) and you dont want more fps you just downgraded to 380-390 so you could use the gun at airdog cqc.

I'd personally go with a Prometheus barrel, the Madbul ones are kinda meh in my opinion.

Or just get another gun designed for longer range. Rhino has a very fair argument against longer barrels, that when you get a longer barrel your volume of air doesn't increase in your gb so you are fighting a losing battle. Your m4 is designed to be a mid range weapon. So grab an m14 or sr25. Probably not the answer you are looking for but that's my solution.

Depending on what I work out with someone I may be selling My SR-25 soon. It has Awesome range.

No promises though, may be trading it, but if that falls through then im gonna sell it.

Longer barrels don't do anything noticeable. Just get a better bucking and nub and don't was $30-$70 on a piece of metal.

Longer barrels dont do anything at all!!! i have done some testing on this and realy there isnt any difference heck i went from a stock A&K sr-25 length barrel to a 550mm promethus barrel and it didnt realy change a thing. the only reason i did it was because i needed a barrel to go to the end of my silencer.

    not true
my m4 sniper is shooting 550
it was shooting 520 and i added a longer barrel and it went to 580
so i cut it down to tune the power.
my ics m4 pistol with a m130 shoots 400 and with a barrel 3 inches longer
    it will shoot 430.
also they both have better accuracy with the longer barrels.

your velocity went up because it's probably a tighter diameter barrel.

Perhaps you should run some tests with your guns and show us the results? Maybe a video? Because Russel has a bunch of pictures up about barrels and tight bores and how they dont really seem to affect range or accuracy...

i agree on the tight bores but i have only tested it on one gun
but i have tested long vs short and i used stock tm 6.04s
out of acouple of m4s i had on the ics
and my sniper has a stock jg barrel in it
    but back on subject

    rip
pm me with how long your barrel is
and if i have a longer one you can try it
i have 5 or 6 at my shop

I want to be able to hit targets at 100-130feet is that sort of thing possible with an AEG? Ive never shot a super upgraded sniper AEG so I dont know what their capable of
what makes the M14 and SR25 AEGS better for long range? its still got a gearbox and a barrel like any other AEG

the only time you are going to see a difference in range is when you hit the 500fps plus range. My former vsr-10 shot in the upper 600's and my sr-25 shoots about 580fps and there is no one that has range on me. That is because im shooting way hotter than any other aeg. That being said you honestly wont see any difference in adding a few fps wither by spring, barrel, or whatever.

The reason the the ICS pistol M4 gained FPS was because the piston was probably reaching the cylinder head after the bb had already left the barrel. Ryan and I had this same problem with a G&P tank M4, with the same length barrel as the pistol. The cylinder wasn't ported and the fps topped out at 290. We put and M150 in it and it was still at the same 290. With a longer barrel, the fps would not stop at 290 with any spring. Also, remember that velocity does not equate to better range and/or accuracy. A 6.01 barrel will have greater velocity, but the 6.08 with have better accuracy. Look at CW!!Zero's thread.

Spend $10 on a bucking and nub; save the $70 you would spend on a barrel for better things.

The guns may have better accuracy on paper, but the difference in 10-6 inch groupings to the human eye is un-noticable and, in my opinion, not worth the stupid amount of money a barrel costs. This is coming from 2 years of experience from me, 3-4 for sniper2525 and who knows how many from Rhino.

(i like the way the s-system looks)
so i thought why not make my point with pics
    so this is my crono
    the same mag
    the same .30bbs
    the same gun
    one barrel is 14-1/2 inches
    one barrel is 20-1/2 inches

short barrel =432 fps high reading out of 10 shots
long barrel =452 fps high reading out of 10 shots
    both barrels are 6.05
