Yes it is.

There is a relativly new camo being released under the name "X-Camo" It looks sort of like a Digital Multicam.....looks like crap, but I can say it works "OK", better than ACU. I've played against people here on base (the land of many pines) and it worked, but the white in the uniform gave it away.

Recon what base are you on? A friend of mine said some of the Rangers he knows are working in X-Cam. I think I mentioned it earlier. I dont think there is white in it. Its an off white tan color. My buddy told me the X-Cam he saw was just like MC but digitalized. I dont know I assume you've seen it, whats it like?

Nope, just my JROTC program does a lot down there, and I play airsoft on the DoD's paintball field (build for entertianment for soldier's and family, but is public).

Here is a picture of some soldiers wearing multicam in Iraq. Not sure who they are, when this was, or if they are even American. But certain units are using it for combat operations.

The best camo is without question the 3D camoflouge they sell at BassPro, in the RealTree AP style. If you are looking for paramilitary camo I would suggest multicam or DigiX.

looks like a NSW unit due to the IBHs, but those are definately Marines on the right.

Hey. I'm planning on getting some camo soon, and I'm just wondering if multicam/MARPAT is worth the $20+ extra I'd have to spend.

I found some used woodland (the curvy, non-digital kind) for $30 shipped. The cheapest I've found multicam/MARPAT is $50+ shipped. Of course, I could just wait to get a deal on eBay or something, so that might be the best option.

Honestly, I'd say just go to a surplus store and pick up some MARPAT or M86 woodland. Regular woodland camo works just fine. Yes, MARPAT works a little better, but it's not like a better camo will make you a ninja.
The main thing that you have to look out for is not to buy 100% cotton. You need some sort of blend.

get 50% cotton, and 50% nylon. Thats what issued camo is.

I saw some Surplus Thick lined jackets for winter for only 20 bucks
Give them a call.........mabey they can tell you
